I just signed up for Rocket Italian. Reviews of it boasted of its enormous amount of lessons. When go to my Dashboard I find three levels with 8 modules each. But each module can be completed in couple hours. Is this all there is? If so I paid for a life time access to something I can easily complete in under a month. Please tell me I am missing something.

Having completed the whole Italian course (now doing French), I'd be interested in your methodology for completing and comprehending/retaining a module in a couple of hours.

Hello ChrisM108,

I asked if I was missing something, which was a serious question. I don't think its necessary to be sarcastic.

In answer to your question the intro Module for level one contains three lessons.

Lesson one - Estimated listening time 18 minutes

Lesson two - Estimated reading time 20 minutes

Lesson three - Estimated reading time 14 minutes

My methodology for completing modules like this is to listen and read for 52 minutes and then do the accompanying ativities.

I cannot find links to anythin else. All the reviews of Rocket's platformed I saw looked very different from what I'm seeing.  So shocked by the apparent dirth of material, I considered  asking for a refund. So I didn't start the program and waited for answer to my question. So, yes I could have missed something. I will start using the lessons to see how involved they actually are.

BUT, if you or someone else would like to tell me what I've missed ………… that would be much appreciated.

Hi DanielT-csuo,

Our Rocket Italian course has three levels, each containing six modules with around ten lessons per module.

While the first lessons might be quick to work through, especially if you already have some foundational knowledge of Italian, as the concepts become more complex, the time needed for each lesson will increase. Therefore, you can expect each level to take between 6 and 8 months to complete.

This timeframe also depends on your needs related to the course. For example, if you want to focus solely on conversation and are only using the Audio lessons, you will progress through the course more quickly.

I hope this clarifies!

Daniel,

I have found the Role Playing dialogue portions of the material can be completed rather quickly. But if you're like me I don't get 100% retention of the material. I currently redoing level one after nine months off.

The parts that I find that take the longest time and are most challenging are the lessons in each section after the dialogues.

These parts I would call the grammar, rules and classroom type learning.

For example, section 1.6 Using articles, 1.7 Partitive Articles (il/i; lo/gli; l'/gli etc) or skipping ahead, for example, 4.7 Yours and Mine about possessive adjectives,

There is a depth and breadth on information in these sections that I find very challenging and take much longer to finish.

Hopefully you have pushed through to some of these sections too  and have gotten a feel for how it can be more useful and challenging.

Of course i like the dialogue learning the most.

best wishes for success.

Stan
