Hi there,
In our Interactive Audio Course, Alex is an American who speaks a little bit of Italian.
Maria is the other character who plays the native speaker, in fact she is from Rome.
I'd say that Alex at the beginning of the course would be a rate 3 but during each lesson he's gaining some points!
Our team is working to the next level, which will be called the Rocket Italian Premium Plus.
This course will be played by two native speakers, both Italians but from different places.
All the best for your Italian learning.

Thank you, Rocket Italian, for setting up this introductory course with Alex (1st language English) and our Italian native, Maria. For me (an adult learning my first "2nd" language) the combination creates a wonderful synergy, and makes learning Italian a totally approachable process. I am recommending Rocket Italian to everyone! ~ Karen

I actually really enjoy Alex and appreciate hearing an American speaking Italian. It's encouraging. It's also very clear in the lessons that we are to be modeling ourselves on Maria's speech not Alex's.

Hi John,
learning a language takes time.
Rocket Italian course has been created in a way that students can learn by listening the audio first and then practising the grammar.
Grammar is important but you don't need to worry too much at the beginning.
I always recommend to start by listening the audio lessons.
Once you get familiar with the conversation you can approach the grammar lessons.
Remember that if you have any doubt, you can post a message in the forum and I'll be more than happy to help you out.
Good Luck!
Ciao
