I am getting confused. You must use mi,ti,ci etc only with reflexive verbs? So if you want to say" we eat dinner". You would say "Noi mangiare cena". It would be incorrect to say "Ci mangiare cena"?For some reason I got the idea that it was incorrect to say noi when saying we.

Hi James, We eat dinner = noi mangiamo. This is in present tense, you don't have to say noi. Mangiamo is still saying "we eat". Ci mangiamo is the reflexive verb, to-us we-eat. If I'm understanding correctly this means we eat together. I hope this helps you some, (if i'm correct) and Maria will explain more :-) A presto Fran

Hi James and Fran, the first part of Fran's explanation is correct. The sentence "ci mangiamo" in Italian can be translated as "we eat" but it's more a colloquial way. It could also mean something else as... "ci mangiamo qualcosa?" = "should we eat something?" I hope this helps. Ciao
