In lesson 2.5 (booking a hotel room) the sentence "Ha una camera" is translated as "Do you have a room"...why is Ha used rather than Hai?

HAI (friendly form, if you know the person you are talking to)
HA (polite form, if you don't know the person you are talking to. I suspect that you will be using this form if you are visiting Italy!)
