Ciao a tutti

Lavoro piu di te. Are we using di instead of che because of the I work as in the comparison is about the “I” not the lavoro.

So confusing

A presto

Hi Sebongela,

Thanks for such an interesting question! I'm copying below the same answer I gave on the other thread in case it's useful to other users.

In this case, the phrase is "Lavoro più di te" instead of "Lavoro più che te," since "te" is a noun and not a verb.

Let's take the phrase "Mangiare è più faticoso che dormire." (Eating is more strenuous than sleeping), I'm going to use "che" because "dormire" is a verb.

As stated in the lesson, when we compare "two verbs, they become più che or meno che." while "adjectives, adverbs and nouns are framed by the words più / meno ... di "more / less ... than."

This might be quite tricky at the beginning, I must admit, so please feel free to ask more questions if you have any - I'll be also happy to help you in case you wish to try the following phrases:

Which one is correct?
  • Sono più golosa che te.
  • Ormai hai meno tempo per divertirti che per lavorare.
  • Sei andata più veloce di Carlo.
  • Studiare è meno faticoso di lavorare

Hope it helps :)
