In lesson 2.4 we learn that there are 7 different ways to use the phrase "of the" in Italian. I have 2 questions:
1- What is the criteria for correct use of "of the"? and
2- Is there a way to more readily learn the criteria?

Hi there,
unfortunately there is no easy way to remember and use "di + the infinitive article":
il, la, lo, l' in singular and I, le gli in plural. When these two meet they become one word, di becomes de and we attach the right article (fem/masc/sing/plural)
The easy part is that a short word starting with de+article means "of the" in English.
Buona fortuna!
