in lesson 4.6 under sports, you use giocare a , (to mean to play. ) what isn't the 'a' always used as in: parlare, and other infinitive verbs. thank you again.

Ciao Joseph, "giocare a" literally means "to play to". Example: -giocare a calcio -giocare a carte The verb "parlare" means to speak. You can say "parlare di" (to speak about) or "parlare a" (to speak to someone) Example: -parlare di calcio =speaking about football -parlare a Maria= to speak to Maria I hope this helps :) Ciao
