Buongiorno and welcome to the Rocket Italian Community.
albergo is a masculine noun therefore it needs the masculine article in front of it. Articles are words like "the" and "a" or "an".
"LO" would be the article used in this case but because albergo starts with a vowel. Vowels are "a", "e", "i", "o" and "u". LO" looses the O and takes the apostrophe .Let's see how it works:
LO ALBERGO becomes L'ALBERGO
Tutto chiaro?
Is it all clear?
Let me know if you want further examples.
Ciao
