Hi all,
I am new and trying to get a feel for the site and features. How am I supposed to pace the lessons, one a day? Thanks for the input!

How to pace the lessons?

Jessica: welcome to Rocket Spanish. Everyone who is taking this course probably has a different pace that fits in with the other parts of their lives, which is what you need to do: figure out how to fit it in with everything else.
For me, learning Spanish is an important priority, so I make time for it every day, usually first thing in the morning before I get busy with other things, and also sometimes later in the day as well.
I stumbled and struggled for awhile figuring out how to use the course. For a time I was doing the lessons in order, then I figured out that there was usually a language and culture lesson that went with an audio lesson so I started alternating, but working on a different lesson in a section each day, repeating until I was satisfied with what I had learned.
Lately I have been having better luck concentrating on one audio lesson and its corresponding language and culture lesson, alternating the two back and forth until I score well on the tests, then move on to another set. And, I figured out that I needed to work in a Survival Kit lesson now and then as well. A lot of them are great for learning new words.
So you see, not only do different users have different plans, some users like me change things up a bit. Again, you have to figure out what works for you. But I think the key is consistency and perseverance. You need to work at it every day for however much time you have or are willing to commit. And you need to accept that learning a new language is not quick, easy, and painless (as the internet ads for some companies would have you believe.)
The good news is that there are a bunch of us here who, despite the hard work, are having fun learning and enjoy helping each other out.
Saludos,
Dan
