Missing Chapter

Hola. I just wanted to let you guys know that it appears chapter 4.5 is missing from the eConversation Course Book. There is an audio lesson for that chapter, and the chapter included in the Beginners Book and corresponding audio. I'm suprised no one else has noticed it.

Hola, Thank you so much for pointing that out, I can't believe we missed that either. We will get onto it right away and we will let everyone know when it has been fixed. Thanks again Mauricio.

¡Hola! Has this chapter been completed yet? I've just started transcribing the lesson myself, but then thought let me check the forums if someone else picked it up and I see these posts were made more than a year ago. I don't mind typing up everything, but it will save me some time if the chapter was already done nicely in PDF format... with the audio bits inserted. <grin> Chao, Johan

Hi, It looks as it's not done. But, mayby this helps They are all downloadeble frm the site. » Interactive Audio Lesson 4.5 ... This and That I recommend that you listen to the Audio Lesson the first time without the benefit of the transcript of the conversation. Why? Because hearing Spanish words aloud and learning to repeat them WITHOUT the benefit of the written word will build a very special language-learning skill in your brain. You'll learn how to start speaking a language the way a native does: from the audible word aloud. This skill will prove invaluable if you spend any time abroad, because you'll be trained in picking up new words from the conversations around you. Nevertheless, in case you feel the need to follow along, here is the conversation you'll be covering in this lesson. Mauricio está en una panadería. Necesita comprar almuerzo. Amy: Buenas tardes, señor. ¿Qué se le ofrece? Mauricio: Me gustaría algo para comer. ¿Qué tiene? Amy: Tenemos de todo. Sándwiches, pan… Mauricio: ¿Qué es eso? Amy: Es un pan relleno. Mauricio: ¿Qué contiene? Amy: Contiene carne molida. Mauricio: Ah. ¿Y esto aquí? Amy: Es una empanada de queso. Mauricio: No sé que quiero. ¿Qué me recomienda? Amy: Recomiendo el pan de casa. Mauricio: ¿Dónde está? Amy: Está aquí. Mauricio: Bueno, tomo esta empanada y ese pan relleno. También el pan de casa. Amy: ¿Los tres? Mauricio: Sí. Tengo mucha hambre. » English Translation Mauricio is in a bakery. He needs to buy lunch. Amy: Good afternoon, sir. What can I offer you? Mauricio: I’d like something to eat. What do you have? Amy: We have everything. Sandwiches, bread… Mauricio: What’s that? Amy: It’s a filled roll. Mauricio: What does it have in it? Amy: It has ground meat. Mauricio: Ah. And this here? Amy: It’s a cheese empanada. Mauricio: I don’t know what I want. What do you recommend? Amy: I recommend the house bread. Mauricio: Where is it? Amy: It’s here. Mauricio: Well, I’ll take this empanada and this filled roll. Also I’ll have the house bread. Amy: The three? Mauricio: Yes. I’m very hungry.

[quo]*Quote from * Antonio I recommend that you listen to the Audio Lesson the first time without the benefit of the transcript of the conversation. Why? [/quo] Yes, true. I do that ... However, for most of the conversation course audio lessons, the PDF contains a host of additional words and phrases. Although, I have noted that in lesson 5.1 (and maybe onwards), there seems to be more content in the audio than in the printed versions. By the way, I have also download a few audiobooks in Spanish from audible.com to which I listen just to try and recognise words. I am also re-watching a lot of my DVDs this time with spanish soundtracks for the same purpose. It is frustrating not to understand everything, but amazing how many of the words you actually do pick up. I find the European Spanish DVDs more difficult to follow than the US/Latin American soundtracks.

[quo]*Quote from * Antonio do you mind posting the correct link , for the benifit of all students [/quo] audible.com should get you there ... the full one is http://www.audible.com Audible.com is one of the largest suppliers of audiobooks and the files are compatible with most MP3 players that support digital rights management. It's not free ... whilst you can buy on an ad-hoc basis ($9.95/year and then it 30% discount on recommended retail), it is relatively inexpensive to purchase books if you are on a subscription plan. 1 credit per month is around $15 (which will give you one book irrespective of actual price for most books, although some very expensive books might require more credits). 2 credits cost $22.95/month. Apart from your credits you can also purchase additional books at 30% discount. If you prepay, you get some free credits and US buyers (they're always the lucky ones!) can sometimes even get a free MP3 player when they sign up. The Spanish selection currently contains 277 items ranging from short documentaries to novels of 15 hours plus.

Hola - I just purchased Rocket Spanish and finished downloading everything I could find. I too noticed that there is no chapter 4.5 in the eConversation book. I notice from this forum that this has been caught before. Since it has been a couple of years since the first request has a 4.5 chapter been created?
