Spanish Platinum Word Game - difficult without mouse

Does anyone know a different way of playing the spanish word game, without using a mouse? It's the game where the astronaut crosses the word bridge to get to the rocket ship. I have a laptop and only have a pad to move the cursor around. My pad doesn't allow me to move the letters to the bridge fast enough. Gracias

Both the phrase master and word master games are a challenge with my laptop. I hope someone has a solution.
