Buenas Tardes,
I'd like to see a thread started on this forum where you have to post your messages en español. If you are like me, you need to be "pushed" to actually try writing in Spanish. A thread that required only spanish language posts .. no matter how mangled (!) could encourage us to make the effort to write. New topics could be suggested each week .. like
your hobbies
your pet (s)
family
travels
favorite foods
etc.
although people are also free to start their own topics...
We could also try correcting each others' posts, then every once in awhile Mauricio could drop by and set us all straight :-))
¿que piensan los otros?
(what do others think? .....is that right?)
Suggestion for a Forum Thread en Español

It's not going to work !
All of us are students, and what will happen is that I replace your mistakes with my mistakes.
What wil work is that Mauricio or Amy correct us, but that is a rather time consuming business, as every one will jump on the occasion.
I can't see M & A having that much time on hand.
Please note that I am not against it, but ........!
Your move :)

well .. in a way, that is part of the learning process .. if you correct my mistakes (or me yours) but you are wrong, then someone else jumps in .. and so on, it starts an ongoing debate on what is correct. Mauricio & Amy, instead of having to deal with our errors one by one, can let us hash it out, then step in with a broader grammatical overview.
For example, let's say someone makes a mistake with the preterite ..someone else corrects them, but then someone else corrects that person .. and so on. Every so often M & A check in to see if we have figured it out ... or need help. If we need help, they have a better understanding of why we are all confused.

well, are we not better of then with some kind of wiki thing.
If we do it post by post, it could get long, confusing or difficult to follow.
( it's called a mess )
Your move !

¡Creo que es una idea muy espléndido! Besides their family, children also learn language from their peers, and it's not always correct. I think the upside of the idea outweighs the downside.

It's not a problem for me to set up. In fact, the other Spanish forum site that I visit, Babel Forum, has a thread in Spanish for advanced speakers. Visit it at __http://www.babelforum.com/spanish/__
As our community grows, I think that you will be able to help one another out a lot as learners! In real life, you don't always have a teacher to go to and ask questions. However, you almost always have friends in the same boat. So by learning to turn to one another and work out something by dialoging, you're actually going to be learning BETTER language skills than if you always got corrected by a teacher!
Enough said. I shall go create that thread now. :-)

jolietil: En el pasado hemos tenido "threads" en español en este foro. Una vez escribamos una historia; una persona escribió una frase o párrafo, entonces otra persona escribió el próximo parte, etc. Fue buena practica para escribir y leer, y divertido también.
