I found that I would prefer to see the written words as well while learning the pronunciation, i did not see this on the trial so i opted out
I've been using Rocket Italian since about March 2019 and I purchased the program because I am required to pass a language exam. I purchased all 3 levels and if you are someone traveling to Italy or learning basic conversational skills this program is great. However, if you have more intermediate needs this program is just ok. It would be nice if there were more breakdowns of the conversations once you get more advanced and provide simple words or phrases to translate. While building skills, the program will ask you to learn the verb to have and memorize extremely long sentences in the same lesson. This happens most lessons and is ineffective for my learning because it doesn't help you practice the skill and learn competency but memorization.
One of the tenses used most often in my work is the historic past and this tense is the one with the least information and preparation. Beyond that, what I've noticed is that the program pushes you to learn specific meanings of words. For example, in one lesson that began with the word "well" I responded with a translation of dunque. The program marked me wrong and was looking for allora. Both are acceptable translations and I am likely to come across both.
Response from Rocket Languages
Response from Rocket Languages: I am sorry to hear that you are disappointed in aspects of Rocket Italian. We are reviewing all of the course content in the next few months so will be sure to take into account your comments.
I like the lessons. The only downside is that I like to do lessons on a device -- specifically, a waterproof iPod while I do cardio in the pool for an hour -- not on my computer or phone. Unfortunately, with your program, I have to download one lesson at a time, rather than download all the lessons at once so I can put them into a file and transfer them to my device. That's the reason I would not purchase from you again. If there is a work around that would allow me to do a single download, like I can with Pimsleur, I would definitely buy from you again.
I purchased this course to give me a chance to practice speaking. I had to you 3 different browsers before it would accept my microphone. I find some of the voice responses I made were no were near what I said when fetched. I'm going to keep going for a while but may cancel.

Response from Rocket Languages: Thanks so much for your review, Doug. We're sorry to hear that you've had trouble getting started. Please don't hesitate to contact our Customer Support team ([email protected]) if you need any assistance, or have any questions.
1, Right now teaching & understanding grammar is weak in the program
2. Need to progress further to decide if I'll buy again
3. decent price when discounted
4. I would explain what I understand of the program at this point.
5. Help with browser recording process almost useless.
"Take Italy Made Easy" (Manu's) videos and couple it with these structured exercises and you'd have a much stronger program.

Hi Ed, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry to hear that the program did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify that grammar lessons are referred to as Language and Culture Lessons in our course and are separate from our Audio lessons. We hope this clears up any confusion. We wish you the best of luck with your Italian language journey!
Italian, it started off great but the guy's voice has become tired and boring. In fact I can't bring myself to listen to it anymore simply because his voice depresses me. Maria is great, energetic and up beat, but the dude, o' maron! Lui e molto stanco.
I’ve just started my second lesson so it seems premature to give a survey but I would like to continue with the lessons so I am doing this survey. So far so good
Rocket italian is not bad, but it could be so much better.
I'm still studying Level 1 - Unit 3 but I have noticed several issues:
- The audio tracks are a bit long for my taste. They take from 20 to 30 minutes and are spoken very slowly. The website and the app don't allow you to speed it up, so you have to download the tracks in order to do it;
- The conversations are between a native italian and a heavily accented american. I am not a native english speaker and several of the rocket students also aren't so I don't see why not using only native italian speakers on the audio tracks
- There are several small translation mistakes and inadequacies, over time they start being annoying;
- Some audios should be reviewed/updated, the other day I heard one that made reference to the year 2008.
Also, Rocket Languages is oblivious to the existence of potential students in developing countries (as in my case) when establishing their pricing strategy. These courses are way more expensive for me, for instance, as they are for my american or european counterparts, when purchase power is concerned.
Rocket languages also does not give meaningful discounts when you enroll in more than one language.
A good way to learn some basic language skills that can assist with getting around a foreign country.
love the way i can build up my vocabulary and knowledge of grammar and test my knowledge.
