The Body in Japanese

After today’s Japanese audio lesson you’ll know the parts of the body in Japanese. Listen to the Japanese audio and follow the pronunciation, and when you’re ready, practice saying the Japanese words aloud. I hope you don’t need to use it, but you’ll also learn how to say "I’m sick" in Japanese—just in case!

My head hurts.

私は頭痛がする。

わたし　は　ずつう　が　する。

Watashi wa zutsū ga suru.

I have a headache

私は背中が痛い。

わたし　は　せなか　が　いたい。

Watashi wa senaka ga itai.

I have a backache.

私はお腹が痛い。

わたし　は　おなか　が　いたい。

Watashi wa onaka ga itai

I have a stomach ache

私は病気だ。

わたし　は　びょうき　だ。

Watashi wa byōki da.

(I) am sick
