Rocket German — United States
There is a lot to love about Rocket Languages - particularly the way you are encouraged to speak and interact with the material. The material, though, is the reason I am cancelling Rocket German Level 3. There are many useful words, structures, and conversations here, but I seriously have to question the didactic approach. Explanations of necessary grammar concepts were often missing or incomplete. Useless vocabulary (e.g. "Ha ha") is given equal weight with sentences much too long to memorize.

Rocket Chinese — Paris , France
Your program is fine and efficient. Nevertheless the dialogues are a little boring ("Beijing seems to be a big city" , well, who doesn't know it?) and there is a BIG mistake in lesson 5.5 Places worth checking out in Beijing (the quizz) : the Great Wall of China CANNOT be seem from the moon ! Check it if you don't believe me. It's a myth !!!

So the program is pretty decent. Using Rocket will definitely increase proficiency. The most frustrating part of the platform by far is the new voice recording system -it's extremely slow and very un-responsive. It slows down the whole learning process. Customer service is cumbersome process but based on the cost of the program, it's not fair to expect that much.

Too early to tell.
Also, this review page is very irritating because I cannot get rid of it or submit it. I cannot go into the lessons until i am able to do something with this page????? 200 character minimum is difficult when you have little to say because you are new to the program. Perhaps you should consider making the review optional rather than compulsory so clients don't get caught up in your requirements for the review. This type of action on your part is the stuff that makes your program lose some of it's lustre. I hope not to see this type of sales activity by your company again.
Rocket Arabic — Delhi

Rocket Japanese — United States
The voice recognition works pretty well. It struggles with very short sounds, but overall very good. I've used other programs that ask you to speak the answers, but the pronunciation analysis makes me try much harder to say each response out loud.
The romaji is good for beginners, but already know hiragana and katakana, so the romaji is very distracting. I wish there was an option to turn off romaji so I can practice reading. --Moderators note: The romanized version of the phrases can be toggled on/off under your profile.--
I like that so much of the exercises use audio. Too many language teachers end up teaching how to read a language, but put very little emphasis on speaking and comprehension. I also really like the dictation exercises, mostly because they give me practice in comprehension of spoken Spanish.

I am hoping that within a year of this program I will be able to Speak Japanese to my co workers. Its much better than Rosetta Stone. I just wish this program explained at very beginning why certain words are used in the sentence like ga, wa, no, imasu, desu and masu so it can be applied instead of just memorized.
Moderators note: We agree! There is a new lesson on this topic being created. It will be added to the course soon!
