I never did any French at school, which was a long time ago and in the UK. Since coming to Canada only 18 months ago I decided I really should learn the other tongue of our dual language confederation. I have attended a course at one of our local adult education facilities but rapidly became out of my depth and therefore discouraged and have now left that course. So I stepped up to the plate and have bought the Platinum Course. I can now go over each lesson at my own pace several times. I love that I can practice my accent for each word and love having to try several times with some words to hit that magic 100%. I am new to this but am loving it so far and now have a real incentive to keep on going.

One major flaw, which is very frustrating. That is the speech recognition software is of poor quality. I do not know why this was not pretested better. But when saying the same words the same way results in a much higher score there has to be a problem. I listen to my voice played back, and it sounds much more like the Russian speaker's voice than the guess printed by the software. Often with time and no changes necessary it will register 100%. But often it will keep on asking for a repeat. It becomes very tedious. Otherwise the package is well designed, with a grammar emphasis which is necessary but often missing from other packages. So using this package I know why and how I am making a mistake. I have used another package in conjunction with this, but the other package is not sufficient by its own because although memory of the language improves, better understanding of the language is very slow. Rocket Russian helps this.

Makes it easy to stay on track! There is a lot of speaking practice integrated in this program, which uses novel technology to help assess your pronounciation, and you can set it to various levels, which helps a lot! Great way to save vocabulary also!

I just purchased Rocket Spanish it was a Special so I wanted to give it a try I have reviewed many of utube video concerning how to best learn Spanish because I really want to learn a second language so here I am for the past two weeks I have listen to stories and repeating after the teacher I hope to increase my learning by taking each lesson and learning to speak by the end of the year I also like the email tips. As I learn more I will post my progress right now I cannot hold a conservation in spanish

I am amazed with Charlotte's ability to understand my broken French. She is patient and generous with her praise. The session just flew by!

What sold me on Rocket originally were the recording and writing features. Although I have not had the time to use all of the program (and it is not from a lack of interest), this has been a robust experience so far.

I haven't come across anything yet that has not been a benefit in learning another language to me. It has been well worth the money and I would say that Rocket is a reasonably priced value, in my opinion.

I am very happy with the course so far. The modules are all clear explained. I like the flashcards which help me to remember the vocabulary will definitely recommend this to my friend who wants to learn English.

I am thrilled to have been referred to Rocket French. I found that I was tackling French in a totally academic manner. ie. I was learning to read it and write it very well, but when it came to stringing a sentence together, I fumbled! Rocket French has enabled me to have lots of interactive practice in listening to the French accent and responding with confident pronunciation. It even provides the written language too! Tutors are encouraging and fun, whilst simultaneously teaching huge amounts of info in seemingly easy sessions. I hope to improve my Spanish later, after completely mastering my French. I found the first level excellent. Both presenters were extremely clear. I'm on to the intermediate course now though and finding it much tougher. It's the same female presenter and she's excellent, but the male presenter in this course is really difficult to understand, pronouncing words considerably differently from the original. They also leave way too little time to repeat the phrases in this one on the first attempt. The second seems to be ok. I've timed the first and in a lot of cases they leave less time than it took for them to say it, so hopeless for me as a beginner! A bit pricey, but overall it seems to be working.
