IT'S UNDERSTANDABLE, AND APPEALING. IT DOES HAVE SOME NULL VIDEOS WHICH MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO PRACTICE THOSE SECTIONS, BUT IN GENERAL IT'S A GREAT WAY TO LEARN ASL. The system is great an the videos are very good. Some are done fast, specially the left hander interpreter, and it gives you the challenge to read left side

Response from Rocket Languages: There shouldn't be any "null videos", can you please contact customer support with details!
Hello Rockets,
Am so glad i found this because am very bad with languages but like the name suggests @Rocket -everything just rockets into my brain and am really having a great time learning Chinese that i even laugh at myself alone.
I took ASL in NYC years ago and missed it, also started to forget... but the videos are a good reminder, easy to understand and testing yourself helps... learn at your own speed too. Really enjoying this :)
Rocket Language is such an invaluable resource. I've been using it to brush up on my French and American Sign Language, while picking up on new languages as well. I truly believe Rocket Language is the best way to learn a new language and stay proficient in languages you already know!
A great way to get your feet wet to a number of different languages. A lot of effort has gone into the courses and while there are still some bugs to be worked out like spelling mistakes and videos that are to fast for a beginner, the courses can be an entertaining way to get used to speaking different languages.
The Rocket Sign Language course has so far been a good investment. I like the way it is set up and it is easy to use. I have had an interest in Sign Language for years and know several signs but don't know much about the language part. Rocket Sign language course is going to change that.
The Videos and Games are fantastic tools for learning. I purchased your product for my Grans'. While I have limited use of my right hand, even I am benefiting from your program. "It's Not Complicated" :} Finally!!! I discovered a tool that has all the Bells and Whistles to make learning fun. Thank You!, Rocket Languages. _ EW Jones, TX
I'm learning ASL and I just got to the numbers part- I was shocked to see that numbers 1-5 are wrong! Numbers 1-5 are always signed with the palm facing in, not out. If they got something so simple wrong, it makes me a little worried about how much they really know the language. Was this course designed by hearing or Deaf people?
Response from Rocket Languages
Response from Rocket Languages: Hi Eileen - Thanks for your review! I just thought that I would let one of our Sign Language experts respond...
"While it is true that simply counting the cardinal numbers 1-5 in ASL the numbers are done with the palm facing in, for most practical uses of the numbers in daily communication the palm faces out - for that reason they are shown this way in the lesson.
For example, if you were to tell the time you would not sign 2:05 as "time 2:05" with your palm facing in - it would face out. Another example would be a phone number - no matter which number 1-9 ,the palm always faces out. Really, there are many different deep language rules connected with number usage - for example how you count days, weeks and months - which will be introduced and explained in later lessons.
Some of team who contributed to this course grew up using ASL to communicate, others attended ITP programs and are RID certified, while others have been educators in the Deaf community for nearly 20 years.
Thanks to this feedback we can make some adjustments to the lesson to explain clearly why we are showing the numbers this way."
So Eileen, thanks for your feedback. We will change it to make it clearer!
I used to find some easy-to-start lesson until I found Rocket!!! Salut tout le monde. You will find the best lesson here. The host is very good and they do it really well.I will choose this lesson if I need more language skill.
My daughter and I decided to start learning ASL and I came across this program through our library. It's going to be a great resource for us as we begin to learn!
