Hello Tyler, I usually say "Frohe Weihnachten!". "Fröhliche Weihnachten" is not so common but more cheerfull. Paul

Interesting, Paul. In the US we say "Merry Christmas" and "Happy New Year" I don't think I've ever heard anyone say "Happy Christmas"

Hello Byron, "Happy new year" is "frohes neues Jahr". When we wish someone in German "merry christmas" we say "Frohe Weihnachten". Keep in mind that you can't always translate word for word. Gruß Paul

John Lennon says "Happy Christmas" :) Thanksgiving is an American holiday. Does Germany have an equivalent? How would you wish someone a "Happy Thanksgiving" in German?

Well, OK. I don't know about Brits and other English speaking peoples. All i've ever heard in the US is Merry Christmas. Good question. We'll see what Paul says.

Hi there, I don't remember that I ever met German people who where celebrating Thanksgiving. I would say "Ich wünsch euch ein schönes Erntedankfest!". I guess you could also say "ein frohes Erntedankfest!" but "ein schönes Erntedankfest!" sounds better. Grüße Paul
