Course expansion Bitte

Any plans to expand the course? What I have really liked thus far from Rocket is the upbeat manner of the Nick and Paul. Ive got several other courses on CD and they are all kinda formal and boring. And please expand the course, bitte.

The course is excellent, I am coming on leaps and bounds, but like cur1611 I would like to see the course expanded. I don't know about other members but I certainly wouldn't mind paying a small fee (Emphasis on the small :D ) for each added lesson to the course. Say for example you produced a good lesson based around the 'Clock' and telling the time and then individuals could pay to download that. (P.S. That was just an example, I haven't completed the course yet so It may be that there is a lesson about telling the time already included)

I agree! Based on the experience of my recent trip to Germany, I would like lessons on the following topics: 1. The typical announcements that one might hear on the trains. For example, we finally figured out that the announcement was saying "please get off on the right (or left)", but we really didn't understand it clearly (and yes, this was on a train with clear pre-recorded announcements). 2. More on the typical foods on a restaurant menu. 3. Information on warning words/signs. Like, "gefahr" (which we didn't know) has nothing to do with "fahren" (which we did know). We took a lot of photos of such signs, and then translated them when we got back to our computers (yeah, perhaps we could have hauled out the paper dictionary, but we were backpacking!) Other tidbits (non-language-related) that could be discussed include: 1. Tipping 2. Garbage disposal, recycling, etc. Food for thought! Judy

Hi Judy, thank you for all the feedback and ideas. That's great! I will pass it on to the German team. In the meantime you might like to have a look at the short list of emergency words on our site: https://www.rocketlanguages.com/german/free/emergency.php Here are some additional phrases that you can use in a restaurant: https://www.rocketlanguages.com/german/free/askingforbill.php How to ask for the time: https://www.rocketlanguages.com/german/free/time.php Thank you!

Hi everyone, I would like to know from you guys what topics you are most interested in for our course expansion. We will cover the topics that Judywan mentioned in her post above, but if you have any additional ideas and wishes please let us know! Thanks!

I have actually not completed the course yet, (finishing Rocket Spanish up) but from looking through the description of each interactive audio course from the “Rocket German Home Page”, here are my suggestions (sorry if you covered any of these already): Complaints/Arguing Commands Hobbies/Common Interests Music Health/At the doctor (aches, pains) More on past, future verbs Occupations Street life/Slang Nightlife Talking with other travelers More on Clothing (It doesn’t fit, too big, too small, do you have it in size ….) Toiletries Camping/Hiking (very popular in Germany I believe) Festivals/Holidays Well that’s just a rough draft I came up with, tell me which ones you guys liked or if any………… Cheers :D

Hi Nathalie The thing I think will be difficult for me will be using different tenses and knowing a bit more about the use of dative and genitive endings. Alec

Hi Alec, Thanks for that, good idea. It's important to know I guess, so we will focus on that as well. Cheers

Everything going well we should have another (advanced) Interactive Audio Course with 31 lessons ready by the end of March 2008. Something to look forward to.

Hi, My wife and I have enjoyed Rocket German TREMENDOUSLY and would like to see in the Advanced Rocket German more about how one comforts one's self at home in everyday life... such as dealing with food, pets, children, wife/husband and more of the intimate side of home life. This has been a fantastic experience! Vielen dank

Hi, firstly wanted to say - am enjoying the Rocket German Course immensely - by far the best thing I've seen around for learning a language! In case you're still taking feedback about what people might like to see in an expanded/advanced version of the course - my personal trouble area is cases. I read all the information, think I have nominative, accusative, dative and genitive firmly understood, but then as soon as I read something in German I'm floundering. Accusative/Dative are the hardest for me personally. So some extra info on cases using long(er) sentences would be great! Or even a tool like MegaGerman that is designed for cases. Ok - that might be too large a request, so I'll be happy for just some extra information & practice :D Thanks Belinda

We just started recording, so it actually looks like it will be a month or so later. I will definitely keep you updated. And I'm sure we can come up with a members special price. Stay tuned!

Hi, I'm probably way too late to provide input, aber, I agree very much with bachiera, cases seem to elude me also. Perhaps if there is an easy and well explained method of recognising cases it would help. Also I know I would personally love to see more on word order. Other than that this is a great course, the best i've tried for sure! Oliver.

Thanks for that. I will see what we can do. Thanks for all your input :D

I would love to see the course expanded to include lengthy reading comprehension exercises. This is the one area that seems to be missing in Rocket German, and is the one most valuable for my work. Thank you!
