Vielen dank

Hi there, Nice that you are practicing your German writing skills. I wasn't sure if to answer you in English or German. The first sentence: "Wissen Sie wo ich Postkarten kaufen kann?" is correct but it is not a 'Nebensatz'. The subordinate clause (Nebensatz) can't stand by itself unlike the main clause(Hauptsatz) whch can. Here is a typical sentence with a subject (S) followed by a verb (V) and an object (O) at the end: Mutter (S) backt (V) einen Kuchen (O) – Mum is baking a cake. This a sentence with Hauptsatz and Nebensatz: Mutter (S) backt (V) einen Kuchen (O), den ich mir wünschte. Mum is baking a cake which I wished for. You will notice that the subordinate clause and main clause are divided by a comma. The main clause can start with a conjunction which is often "dass" and ends with a verb. Hope this was not to confusing and if you have more questions to this topic let me know. Gruß Paul
