Question on lesson 2.2

Gibt es einen Englisch sprechenden Führer? Why would this not be: Gibt es ein Englischer sprechender Führer? Normally in the nominative (or, in this case the predicate nominative), when you have "ein" followed by an adjective (or two) it follows the model: ein Englischer sprechender Führer. Is this some sort of colloquial exception? I'm hoping so . . . Thanks, ignis

Hi Ignis, the reason it says "einen English sprechenden Führer" is because its Accusative. The masculine articles "der" and "ein" change when used in the Accusative. "Der" turns into "den" and "ein" becomes "einen". Feminine articles (die and eine) and neuter articles (das and ein) don’t change. The noun "Führer" is masculine, therefore it is "einen (...) Führer". I hope that helps. Nathalie :D
