Use of "je"

Es gibt ein kostenloses Mittagessen je Person
I have just seen this sentence, which can be translated to “There is one free lunch for each person”. I know that “je” means every/ each, but why is “jede” not used instead?

Hallo RexV,

Je here actually has the meaning of "per," so it is different from jede "each." To use jede, it would have to be für jede Person.

Tschüss!
