Finden

Hi,

I have just seen this sentence:

Is it in German normal to use “Finden” when someone or some people agree/disagree with something?

Hallo RexV,

Yes, you can use finden when you agree or disagree with someone or something, such as: Das finde ich auch. - “I agree with that.”

Finden in your sentence however, is just the verb being used to show they have an opinion, like saying “they find“ or “they think“.

Viele Grüße

Hi again,

What is most common in practice to say here?

Best,

Rex

Hallo nochmal!

Both sentences are equally common - “Ich finde (…)” sounds just a little bit more informal. Please note that there always needs to be a comma before “dass”.

Viele Grüße,

Julia
