“Statt” and “anstatt”

I understand these two words means “instead of” and result in a genitive case situation.

However, when should you use “statt” instead of “anstatt”?

Hallo RexV,

Statt is actually a shortened form of anstatt; they are interchangeable.

Tschüss!
