Hi!!
I found an app in the iTunes store that will help you with vocabulary. It's called "Mindsnacks ". You can learn vocabulary while playing a game. This app is available for free. You get access to 2 games and 3 vocabulary lists. If you want more, you can buy it for $4.99. You can learn Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German and Mandarin vocabulary games. So for those of you who are waiting for Rocket Languages to develop an app for iOS use this app until then.

I really like the Mindsnacks games. It's good to reinforce what I've been learning on Rocket German. Plus if you only have a few minutes to spare, it's great for that. :)

I bought this app awhile back and really enjoyed it...right up until the recent up-date. Now I find it's slow to load, it freezes up continually and only one session of one game will load at a time. If this is an improvement, I'm not impressed.
So....instead of Mindsnacks I've been playing a free adventure game app from the Goethe Institut. "The Mystery of the Sky Disk". The game is in German and you can chose to have help in either German or English; you can save the game at any point, or chose to begin over again each time. The characters in the game speak their lines but there are also written dialogue bubbles. You progress through the game by gathering helpful objects and solving clues. You follow German instructions and move around both within the country and within a city. Sometimes you have to construct sentences and sometimes you have to reassemble maps in order to move forward. I haven't solved the mystery yet, but I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Hi everyone!
Just an update on the iOS app - we've just submitted it to the Apple store so if all goes well the app should be out in the next few weeks, as soon as Apple gets back to us. Hope that helps!

Thanks Shannon. I just played one of the on line podcasts from the Goethe Institute site. It will be a useful learning supplement. I was happy to discover that I could understand a lot of the conversation with what I have already learned from Rocket German.

:) Hey Byron....I found another site you might find useful: Quizlet.com I find it helpful for practicing my somewhat 'unstable' (?) grammar.
