awesome-you said it I love the exercises and I find the reviews very helpful. I have also tried the games. I enjoy the tests as well. I think the recording trace for pronunciation is also very useful. had a few headaches with attaching camera and microphone.
So far I'm happy with the experience. The instruction is thoughtful, and there are many different ways to review and practice the material. The interface is a little clunky and could use updating, but the content and quality is very good.
Very good course so far good to be able to record your own voice and play it back .
Do think Dave's made a mistake in play back instead of hěnhǎo he says her hǎo in the greetings section .
Good to be able to get a six day trial for this product

Experiencing several methods of learning foreign languages ,I can assure you that ROCKET LANGUAGE ,has created one of the best methods of learning languages.
I sincerely congratulate all the founders of this Language Center ,especially M/S LIN PING and M/S Marie Claire Riviere who are undoubtedly specialized in teaching useful and applicable phrases and dialogues .
I love how the program is structure. The instructors speak very clearly. Plus I can record myself to see how well I can pronounce the words. I hope to become a conversational speaker through this program. So happy I am trying it.
I started a couple of years ago, but had a break. I have found it easier this time round and the word pronunciation is easier. I have concentated on speaking and that I need to go back and make sure that I can say the words well as the combined words add another level of difficulty if you are not sure of the easier ones.
I can come back and get the spelling of the Pinyin after I can speak with sense. I can also attempt the simplified Chinese characters with more meaning once there is some language base.
At first what I expected was it to turn out something alot like chinesepod 101. Fortunately it had which made it all the more easier to learn without a ridiculous intro to each lesson not only that but the website restricted access to the pdf for the mandarin characters. How desperite are they for money all the more I was still quite pleased with that website but ever so more with this one.
I was impulsive when I bought Rocket Chinese but I definitely do not regret it because my Mandarin has improved so much in these few months where I can strike up some everyday conversations with my family. But I must disclose that though I have improved a lot these few months, it is not solely due to this program. I can speak Cantonese fluently so I can easily understand the Chinese grammar as I have been exposed to it and I can get immediate feedback from my mom whom speaks both Cantonese and Mandarin. I like how I can teach myself at my own pace without needing to travel to a class to learn. I like the overall format of listening and the ability to speak and have it rated based on how well I do. There are some technical issues that can be fixed but the experience is certainly very enjoyable and it is very fun! The only downside is there is no one that can immediately fix your pronunciation because as mentioned, the rated recordings of our voice does have faults as it may not pick it up when you pronounce a word correctly or incorrectly. This program does help tremendously in terms of improving my vocabulary and help to build my own sentences. This program really got the ball rolling for me and hopefully in the near future I can converse fully in Mandarin.
Rocket Chinese is a great learning tool where you can learn Pinyin (Chinese Alphabet), Chinese characters, and audio. I found the price extremely reasonable compared to other programs of equal quality. My only concern is their translation from Chinese to English. They present a rough translation to what the sentence means and sometimes a very loose translation. I would like to see in addition to their translation, a word to word translation so the student can grasp what each word actually means. I find when I look up each word, my translation may not coincide with that of Rocket Chinese. Not that one is better than the other, it just provides me with another interpretation of the sentence.
