The program is well done - small chunks and plenty of practice. The voice recognition is generally decent, but can be inaccurate sometimes. Be sure that you are pronouncing at a normal pace and extra clearly and extra loudly. Even with that, this program is miles ahead of Rosetta Stone.
I've been using Rocket Spanish for several years now and if I was able to stick to it, I would be fluent by now as it is a very good program. My problem with sticking with it isn't a problem with Rocket Spanish, but my problem of not setting aside enough time to do it. The lessons get progressively longer and I don't like to do a partial lesson. I want to complete the entire lesson in one sitting and I don't have time so tend not to do it at all. I know I need to let this go. Gratefully, Rocket Spanish is still there waiting for me.
This is my first time using the computer exclusively to attempt to learn Spanish, or study any subject, really. So far, I find it very satisfactory.
I'm having a little difficulty with the Spanish keyboard is there not an "inverted" ?

If you are using the keyboard on Write it! just click the "Shift" button and ¿ will be at top right of the keyboard. Alternatively, this article should help with additional Spanish characters https://sites.google.com/a/orono.k12.mn.us/studenttech/foreign-language/creating-spanish-characters-and-accent-marks-on-a-windows-keyboard
It's always fun to get on and learn new thing. It's actually helped me grow a lot this year in Spanish compared to last year. And i can use it when ever and where ever. And i like how it has different levels for each stage and how it quizzes what you know. But it is also very easy to cheat on. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn a new language besides Spanish too.
I use the audio lessons most. Haven't ever down loaded the documents. Too huge. Wish it was in book form and came with the program. I would have paid a little extra for that option I also like the girl. It is easier to understand her when she speaks spanish as she is not as fast as the native speakers.
I signed up over 5 years ago and every time I have had any issues or just a simple question they have always been there. The lessons are spot on and learning Spanish, is Rocket fast!
Keep up the great customer service, Johnny B
My family and I are currently in Mexico and are working on learning Spanish. Since this program starts with useful phrases, like how to ask for help or how to order coffee, it has been much more helpful than something like the popular owl-themed language app. (Why do so many programs want to teach me to talk about elephants? Not helpful!) Rocket Spanish also uses the type of Spanish that is actually spoken, unlike the Spanish I learned in high school, and the audio is a native speaker, not a computer-generated voice. My twelve year old daughter and I both like it, and the price is reasonable. A video element would be nice, but focusing on listening and speaking is fine considering the reasonable price and useful Spanish. This seems like a good first step before moving on to teachers online or in-person lessons, and we are already getting to use what we learn in daily life here.
Hello. I was born in the United States so my first language is English. Currently I’m extremely fluent in Spanish and Italian. I’ll elaborate on that later. I retired in 2008. In December of 2009 it was decided to purchase Rocket Spanish for myself as a Christmas present. Only Premium, Premium Plus and Platinum were available at that time so all 3 levels were purchased. I had no prior language training during life and no experience talking to others in any language except English. Rocket Spanish was downloaded to an iPod as part of my New Year resolution. I practiced most days while exercising and repeating everything aloud. Everything was finished multiple times that was contained in the Premium or first level in March. The entire level was basically memorized from repeating it so many times. The beginning of April 2010 I went to Panama on vacation for 3 weeks by myself. I didn’t get an interpreter and just went for it and made my way around much of the country by myself taking local bus transportation. The reality was for 4 days I was like “aaaaa”, then suddenly my brain said oh apparently you’re serious and started working without any problem speaking the Spanish I learned in the Premium course.
The content of the course seems good through module 1. The voice recognition has some challenges at times. An example is even though I say the phrase and it is recorded for playback, the system will indicate that it did not get it and therefore cannot validate it. The nice playback feature in Windows is not available in Android.
I purchased Rocket Spanish after watching a close friend communicate in Spanish, 2 months after he had purchased the program. He motivated me to buy it because of his rapid progression without a background in the language. He went on a trip to Colombia and flew to multiple airports, caught taxis, exc...Now we have become accountability partners and endeavor to practice a lesson daily. When we meet up, we tell each other about what we learned or struggle with.
This program helps me to practice aloud in Spanish at least 10 minutes a day due to the length of the lessons and the ability to track my progress. This is the everyday Spanish that I need between my other college studies. I have recommended it to all of my classmates, multiple professors, and pastor. The lessons incorporate applicable, real-life situations (birthdays, vacations, eating, working) that focus on conversational use of the language. I have already purchased levels 2 & 3. I think Rocket Languages is a great program and learning platform!
