I am probably an low intermediate and have completed the second level of Spanish and started the third but found it quite a bit harder without a lot of explanations for the grammar or expressions used.
I stopped working on it for now, and have started the Spanish Travelogue instead. . Again it is harder than I hoped with very rapid Spanish and verb tenses I have not yet learned. I would have liked a little more explanations - For example, I appreciated getting a quick response to my question as to why the verb haber was not conjugated in a sentence.
" 'Haber' is not conjugated as it is acting as a modal auxiliary; and when it is followed by a past participle (olvidado) it forms the compound infinitives in the conjugation. It's a compound tense, just like in English. "
But it is still way past my current understanding. I will carry on as I am finding it interesting but I am not sure I am quite ready for this.
Its my first day to learn. I have bit background to this language. Now just familiarization and to continue learning the language more. Learning here through audio and written is satisfying. I would love to finish my free tutorial for a week. And hope to have the tutorial for more months. So exciting! Gracias Rocket Spanish Online for the tutorial.
Rocket Languages is a wonderful tool for everyone who wants to expand their vocabulary in other languages. I personally have been taking Spanish and like my life motto, "I regret nothing." I would recommend Rocket Languages to anyone who needs to learn a different language for school or for pleasure.
I have really enjoyed the rocket languages learning experience! The only difficult thing is staying movivated! The price is fair, expensive but fair as you get a lot for your dollar. I would recommend writing down everything you say, think, and learn and reviewing it weekly if your true desire is to learn the language quickly and efficiently! I was satisfied with how the module layer the self although some restructuring should be considered as the gradual progression is self-affirming however every so often there is quit a large jump in difficulty. The tests at the end of each module should also be touched us as to test your problem solving and ability to infer from what you have learnt, instead of testing what you have memorized from the lesson. Other than that i continue to use rocket languages and would reccomend it to anyone who is interested in learning Spanish.
I have already a long experience with Rocket Spanish course (I am following at this time the lessons of "Premium Plus : Level 2")
I liked Rocket from the start and , while a little tired now, my sympathy seems to persist.
I very much appreciate its structure , the conversations , the multitude of tests , all helping in the laborious task of learning a new language at a rather advanced age and, as I am not living in a country of Spanish language, without the necessary minimum immersion .
But, there are also some weak points, at least in my opinion:
The English versions of conversations are , again from my point of view, unnecessarily long.
I say "unnecessary" because, while all the personages have something interesting to say, and pleasantly so,(truly I like them all !), too many thing are said, some not having a justifying didactic weight in the lesson itself .
Telling these things, irrespective of how much instructive and amusing could they be, stretches and "burdens" these English conversations
Just one more "observation":
The tests , saying it, writing it etc., starting at too low a level , becomes too long, exceeding the usual attention span time.

Response from Rocket Languages: Some good points there. These will be added to the wishlist for the future.
Rocket Spanish was an excellent way to kick-start my Spanish. When I decided to attend class in Spanish, I was amazed at how much I have learned from Rocket Spanish.I am now working through the advanced course and am happy to find it both challenging and accessible. While attending class is great, it is generally limited to one or two hours a week. Not enough to become proficient in a language. Having an online course that is available to me 24 hours a day, means I can work on the language every day and can fit in lessons around my schedule.
I really like the way the modules are introduced such that you can make use of the Spanish you are learning immediately. Tried Rosetta Stone and did not find their methodology at all useful matching pictures to words ...... so far this is much better and more intuitive for me.
I have been working with duolingo for about a year now and while this program has certainly helped to expand my vocabulary I did not see how it would help me to engage in any conversation. I am now working every day with the Rocket Spanish program and love the approach. I am now learning in a way that will allow me to learn things that I will be able to use in daily situations that I hope to encounter in my future travels.
The content of the course seems good through module 1. The voice recognition has some challenges at times. An example is even though I say the phrase and it is recorded for playback, the system will indicate that it did not get it and therefore cannot validate it. The nice playback feature in Windows is not available in Android.
Multiple learning techniques, great for visual as well as auditory learners. My granddaughter enjoys learning with me. Easy way to learn conversational languages . Although the recorder doesn't always work it still helps me learn.
