I am learning Rocket French and i do enjoy listening to the audio lessons in the car.. My only criticism is that i wish there were more audio lessons. Also the quiz section for the language and culture lessons are frustrating, it only tests you on the words/sentences that are listed and maybe should be testing more on the actual theory behind the subject. Also some of the audio lessons are surprisingly sexist? maybe due for an update to bring into 2018 Rocket??!

Im extremely satisfied with Rocket Language French Course. I truly believe that you are the best French online Course. Having bought many Courses years ago, I regret to try to use them so late, due to many problems of time. I suposse that one proof of my honest judgment is that I am 77 years old, so I don´t like to state what I don´t feel as true. Your bilingual teaching is one of the most important things that you could have chosen. Very nice! Also, the high technical resources you have here, plus the easy way to connect with your website without the horrible experiences in other websites...!, the beautiful presentation of your Courses, attracting and pleasant customers to follow the lessons, and the thourouglhly care you have put in every lesson , helping students to really improve their french knowledge , these are powerful reasons for me to have no doubts at the time of a language website option. I indeed pray to have a long life time to enjoy and take advantage of your French Course, and maybe other ones if I should have time to deal with them. . So, my best and sincere congratulations to everyone in the team, specially to you, Marie -Claire Riviere. Thanks, thanks a lot!

I am enjoying the audio lessons and I particularly like the additional explanations on grammar points and the way they ask you to apply the learning in different ways. It would be great if this learning approach was also applied to the revision exercises, which do a good job of consolidating the phrases in the audio lesson (even if it is a little too repetitive) but don't stretch you to apply the underlying grammar principles to new situations. It would also be good if the revision sometimes threw in words and phrases from earlier lessons as a way of consolidating what you have learned before. I also find the voice recognition very difficult to use. It very often doesn't pick up on what I'm saying.

I have owned Rocket French for several years, but have not had the time to devote to it. I find that it quite comprehensive, so far, for conversational French. I also to Duolingo and really like it to set me straight on French grammar. One gets a lot of practice there, especially if one makes many mistakes, as I do. Also one can review to one's hears's continent. I don't know if one can actually learn conversational French with Duolingo, but it does give one the basics to experiment with French speakers or others learning the language.
However, I think that (I haven't actually tried it) one will learn conversational French more quickly with Rocket French. I cannot vouch for any other method.
I have had two semesters of French at a university. I also value that experience very highly.

Rocket is absolutely brilliant. The way to learn a language is to see it, speak it, and write it. It is obvious a lot of thought has gone into the way the system is set up, from starting off with commonly used sentences, to gradually working in spelling, pronunciation, grammar, language, and cultural lessons. There are so many great features, like being able to record and play back conversations, using flashcards, spelling reviews, etc. I'm a new user, but I've used other off-line and on-line language courses for Spanish, and Rocket French is far superior. Sometimes the cheapest way to do something is to pay for it, and that is true in this case. It is money well worth spending.

I have used Rosetta Stone and Berlitz in the past to become comfortable with Italian and German before trips. I found both of those much easier than Rocket. The English accent of the narrator makes it hard to follow, and the pace is very slow, which leads me to get distracted mid-lesson.

Response from Rocket Languages

Hi Stephen - I am sorry to hear that Rocket French isn't for you. We do of course have a 60 day money back guarantee if you don't like it. Just contact customer support!

Overall a good course - perhaps a few too many bells and whistles. In the French course the instructor needs to speak MUCH more slowly and enunciate more clearly. Speaking too fast, especially in the early stages, does NOT provide the student with proper pronunciation. It may be the way many French people speak day to day, but you need to learn the proper way to say things before speaking rapidly. I speak some French and what I'm hearing is not clear for a new student to learn properly.

Response from Rocket Languages

Hi Russell - It usually does take some time for ears to be trained to a new language. It can be a good idea to listen to a French radio station during the day to help with this process.

So far (I am only on Lesson 1.3) the experience is good. The conversation is applicable to everyday life - and I am looking forward to using these phrases, as they stick in my head and on my tongue, next week on a business trip to Paris. I need to keep practicing saying the phrases, and comparing my pronunciation and word rhythm with the recordings.

Great product with multiple learning methods as well as multiple review and comprehension tools for adult learners.
It's helpful that they also include "street French", differing dialogues, and variations.

This is the most effective language training tool that I've come across. I took three years of language courses when I was still in school, but the face to face instruction and curriculum never really reached me in the way that I've had with Rocket Languages. Between the app and the online course, it makes learning a new language fun and much easier than I could possibly have anticipated.
