I waited a couple of months before my review so that I could be completely confident of my experience. I have become hooked on this style of learning, it is just what I was missing. You can hear your recording and compare it with a native speaker and repeat it until you get it right. There is voice recognition software that rates you, but it is sometimes inconsistent. But that is not a major issue to me. Considering you have unlimited time to learn, the price is right. I am starting to do the written test first since spelling helps me with remembering the words used in the other tests. The testing itself is a great teaching tool. Thank you Rocket guys!
I enjoy every minute learning with Rocket. Especially, I can walk or wait for something or even do the dishes- and learn. Paul and Clare are so charming, their pronunciation is perfect. For the first time learning new language is relaxing and fast.
Absolutely the most convenient way to learn a second language!! I enjoyed that I could slow down or speed up where I needed and could go back and repeat anything I wanted to refresh. I also enjoyed being able to hear the pronunciations and practice with voice recognition. It worked perfectly with my busy schedule!!
I'm very glad I found Rocket French. Paul and Claire are great presenters who work well as a team. Paul's touches of humour and teasing keep the mood light so it hardly feels that you are working. I enjoy the little snippets of background information he drops in which help me to remember.
I have been playing the audio lessons in the car when commuting, and I am now trying to spend more time with the interactive tools. It is very useful to be able to hear Claire pronouncing individual words and phrases (repeated as many times as I want), and to see the words written down. My only criticism is the voice recognition software, which is frustrating and unreliable. I now ignore what seem to be totally arbitrary "scores" and just compare the recording of my attempts against Claire's original examples.
I have found the Rocket system to be a great way to learn the language. I am now well ahead of the "traditional" French language course which I enrolled in at the same time, and which has a more academic focus. Rocket French equips you to deal with real situations, which for most people, is what you really need if you're planning on a holiday rather than an exam.
I've had this a few weeks now, but I've been so busy with work, that I haven't taken the necessary time to keep up with the lessons. However, I should be able to get the block of time needed to proceed soon. The transcripts are very helpful to me since I have a hearing loss that is not too helpful learning French (or speaking English!) If patience is a virtue, the Rocket staff should be eligible for sainthood soon.
Bonjour! Je m'appelle Laurice. Je viens des Philippines.. I am having trouble with some lessons yet the CostumerService chat doesn't have anyone to chat so no one would help me out. I am unsatisfied because someone would be online by the time I wouldn't need help and now I really need help, no ones there to chat. Anyway, it also has helped me a lot. To let you know, I am only 11 years old yet I am willing to know more about different languages and learn about it, fun fact: we are still not studying different kinds of languages but I know that this will be really helpful in the future.

Rocket Languages is an excellent program and the repetition of the different activities really helps to make things stick. I like that you can listen to the lessons while running or driving and then complete the activities once at home. Good combination of mechanical practice and more cerebral grammar lessons.
I have been using the program for about a month and a half now and I have found it somewhat useful. My level is above that of a new beginner but not quite yet intermediate. My concerns about the program, starting with the idea that most people want what will be most useful i.e. picking up useful spoken language for travel, is that particularly when testing, the program expects your responses to be almost in the same order as their introduction. If the expected answer starts with Tu and you use the Vous form, you are marked as incorrect. The program should note what form is wanted. A "hint" function also would be nice to help someone with responses as learning, not just simple memorization, is the goal. The program also occasionally makes some unexpected detours from what is useful. For example, one lesson moved from general travel issues to a flight of fancy to go skiing. I did not find a lot of useful information in that lesson. Finally, today I took a test which contained a large number of questions involving the "passe simple". The last question on the test asked how much one would expect to hear the passe simple and the correct answer was "almost never". So, I feel a lot of time was wasted that could have been better spent elsewhere. I hope these comments are considered helpful. There are good things here but a few tweaks would make it much better.
The free trial version of Rocket Language is indeed awesome and it seems to be what I need to learn French. unfortunately I cannot afford it. However, I recommend it for anyone who wishes to learn French online. its indeed good.
