Rocket Languages is very useful for your conversational and grammar skills. It's very helpful.

A generally excellent course - I love the structure of core lessons supported by reinforcement activities, and the fact that you can break up your learning into conversation-based and grammar-based modules. There is a good balance between formal grammar (in the Language and Culture lessons) and the core conversational modules. I like the way sentences are broken down by the speakers and there is a chance to repeat the whole conversation yourself.
The only problem has been the voice recording, which is sometimes faulty - it seems to not pick up what you say, even using the microphone, or to judge you poorly even on simple words such as "tout". I have studied French before so I know with words like that that I'm pronouncing them correctly, but the system rates me down. This problem seems quite random so I can only think it's a software problem. If it had not been for this, I would have rated Rocket French 5 stars all round. It is still a very good course though.

Every time I ask someone "do you speak French" I almost always get "un peu" followed by, that they studied in school but have forgotten everything they learned. I have found that you never forget, it is just that your knowledge is dormant. You will remember when you again use what you learned many years ago.
I first learned to speak French as a young boy living in Orleans. Over the decades I studied French whenever I had a language required in school. I continued to study over the years. Usually when we would be vacationing or visiting France.
I did find that due to non use I lost much of my French language skills. I think of all the different formats available to teach a language "Rocket French" has proven to be the most effective. Although early in the program I feel the "Rocket" is a learning program with which I will be most comfortable. I'll find out just how effective it will be next summer when I return to France. EXCELLENT! Liked the first 4 lessons, with the ability to repeat pronunciations, and explanations.
Having a really hard time with next few, with grammar and tense--all well explained, but I think it's more
the complexity of the language itself. I think the best way to learn French is to be born there!

I'm really enjoying the pedagogy of this course and I am learning lots of French. It really does build beautifully from one lesson to the next and very good range of different teaching and learning strategies. However there are two problems that do impede the enjoyment of this. The first is the awful script given to 'Paul' one of the two presenters. It feels like something from the 1980s in terms of how sexist it is and this is surprising considering the quality of everything else on this course. The second problem is a technical problem that appears towards the end of the first module (lesson 6.3 and 6.4) where the transcript of the discussions stops working. It is possible to scroll down to look at the phrases used - but the running transcript that has been a feature of the earlier lessons freezes after the first couple of minutes which is a shame. Other than that - this is a really good course. But please course writers - can you update the script so that this does not offend future listeners.

so far so good I am really enjoying the conversations and the explanations to it. It's online self taught I think there is still more room to improve the real dialogue lessons to practice pronunciation correctly. A more testing tool like exercises would also improve learners evaluation of grasping the concepts.
