This course really makes sure you get visual learning, audio learning, and spoken learning including grammar. I'm loving it so far it feels like I'm in school again with a strong curriculum to follow unlike other courses that has no curriculum and guidance.

We're so glad to hear that you are enjoying the course so far. All the best with your language-learning journey!
I really enjoyed the structure of the lessoon. I hope it is more affordable
After stopping for a while, I recently picked up this course again, and wow, have I learned a lot in such a short period of time. Even though my native language (Mandarin/Cantonese) is more similar to Japanese than a lot of languages, the language is still quite difficult to learn. However, it was easy to start again because everything about this website was very easy, efficient, and satisfying to use. Overall, this is a very underrated language learning tool. :)

Hi Jason, thank you for your review. It's great that you can see yourself making such clear progress in a short amount of time and finding that the Japanese course is intuitive and easy to follow. Happy learning!
This has been so far the best option for me to learn. I think is easy and you can adapt to your own needs and timeline.

We at Rocket also share a love for the Japanese language and culture. It's great to hear you're enjoying the course. Keep up the good work!
I love this app! I chose this over duolingo, and here is why:
1).Duo always pressures you to do your lessons and even takes away your streak if you miss a day which is completely unfair. But with Rocket languages, you can miss a few days and it won't send you continuous messages to do it, as duolingo does. It will sometimes reset your streak, but it doesn't pop up in your face
2). Rocket languages doesn't only have text-to-speech lessons, but you can actually repeat what it says, and the AI will check your accuracy. Duolingo can't do that.
3). Instead of waiting to complete the overall course for each stage of talking the language you want to speak, you can choose if you are ready to start a new course or not WITHOUT having to complete a test.
That concludes my opinion of why I think rocket languages is more relieving than Duolingo. You can get the full learning experience and not have to worry about being pressured!

So far I've only done the first lesson. Everything was good except the hiragana 'de' in dekimashita was missing a dakuten (") so I read it as tekimashita. I don't know if that is intentional or not. This was in the Getting started - Extra: sort kana section.

Hi Ryan, thank you for your review. We appreciate you mentioning this issue and bringing it to the attention of our Customer Support team. As per the email we sent you, you had spotted a small typo in the Japanese lesson "Getting Started" which we have now rectified. We wish you all the best with your Japanese language-learning journey!
As someone who's been using Rocket Japanese for years and generally liking it, I'm writing this review to express my frustration. AGAIN you have redesigned the app in a way that seriously hurts the functionality! Why do you keep doing this? (Especially with no option to switch back?). Why did you decide to make the kanji suddenly very small, forcing me to zoom in on phone? Makes the kanji lessons a huge pain! Change it back! Im getting tired of you guys constantly screwing up your own app!

Thank you for your feedback, Brion! We understand your concerns and that updates can interrupt your learning. However, please know that all our updates aim to improve the usability of the course and, therefore, your language learning experience. As was the case prior to the update, font and script sizes can be enlarged in your phone settings. If you have any further feedback, we'd love to hear it, so please reach out to [email protected]!
