Still learning about how to use the app. It seems to work well on my Android phone, and voice recognition does not work on my iPad. I wish I could explore more alternate words and phrases that seem commonly used...according toSpanish speakers I attempt to engage.
The Culture lessons leave so much to be desired. Why waste one on Che Guevarra, el Matar de la Cabana?
I have a Macbook pro OS Catalina 10.15.4, Firefox, AND NO I do NOT want to use Chrome, Level 1, Rocket Languages Lesson 5.9, Activity:Hear it - Say it = while clicking on the "Play" button I cannot hear what I am supposed to record. Even after recording something I cannot hear what I recorded. While at the same time the activity "Flash Cards" as well as the activity "Write It" and the activity "Know It" is working perfectly fine. Therefore it can only be a bug in your software at this point in the activity "Hear It - Say It”. After trying Chrome it did not work either.
There are obviously ongoing problems with the audio since 2019 as seen on other comments (now while I was doing the certification in Module 5) ) and no one seems to be able or willing to take car of these issues. I am extremely disappointed.
Response from Rocket Languages
Hi Gerd, Lesson 5.9 has been fixed. With the new update some of the phrase boxes in that lesson stopped working as they should. Also, if you are using a Mac then we would recommend the Safari browser. Firefox does not support voice recognition. Firefox has said that it is coming but they have been saying that for 5 years!
Decent program, the voice recording and speak detection leaves a lot to be desired but at least it gets you to speak. My main issue is with the module tests at the end of the lessons, they crash and reset the entire test once you get to the end of a section. It is not worth doing.
Response from Rocket Languages
Hi Brian - We sent you an email asking for more clarification on the Module Tests issue. We haven't had any other reports of issues with this so would be keen to get to the bottom of it.
Rocket (Spanish) is, I believe, a great language learning program. I say “I believe” because I have been using it a short time and have not successfully learned a Spanish, yet.
Pros:
I chose Rocket over courses from other companies because the trial demonstrated that it is more thorough.
It also seemed to focus on Mexican Spanish instead of European. Since I live in California, this is important to me.
The instructors are very clear and entertaining. Pro reviews say they are a bit cheesy but I do not think so.
A clean user interface that works well on my iOS devices. It is not as pretty as, say, Memrise or Duolingo, but it is well structured.
For my learning styles I feel the audio lesson, followed by an activity, flash cards, reading, writing and quiz is more thorough than any others have to offer.
Lessons are downloadable on my iOS devices, but...
Cons
...i stay in a hotel with poor wifi and although I download the lessons at home, for some reason my iPad (wifi only) will sit there and spin like its trying to stream the lesson, even though i had previously downloaded it, and this prevents me from even using the lesson at all when it does this
VERY EXPENSIVE. I paid almost $300 for the program for all levels lifetime.

Hi Brian - Good news! The 2021 Edition of our courses will be out soon and all current members, like yourself, will get that update for free.
I have started the second lesson in RS 3, La Pinata, and have become frustrated and discouraged. The Conversation part is OK even though I am getting tired with Mauricio, but the Extra Vocabulary which has no context as in the Conversation introduces too many new phrases and vocabulary many of which are not even related to the Conversation (79 in this part!). Instructionally fewer new words/phrases with a reasonable amount of repetition would be much better. In RS parts 1 and 2 it seems that the New Vocabulary was generally shorter and more related to the Conversation. In short, I am very disappointed! I star for every rating is even too generous.
Response from Rocket Languages
Hi Larry - Level 3 of Rocket Spanish is an advanced course so there is a lot more Spanish phrases in it than Level 1 and Level 2. In saying that, we are embarking on a full review of the content of the entire course and will definitely take your comments into account.
Man this has been a God sent. Thank you guys. I could not ask for a better program.
Excellent course . Well designed and helpful to advance your Spanish. I find very useful the feedback, to listen to your pronunciation which sometimes does not work. Also great is the questioning at the end which makes you think and tell you how bad is your memory getting to be. All in all enjoyed the courses.
Because of the excellent price I brought the Spanish course, the language I am learning and also the Italian course, a language I have always wanted to speak. To hear myself speak these languages and get a good mark at my pronunciation is awesome! Thank you.
Tomorrow my friend is coming and I am going to introduce her to the two languages and we can practice together.
Nice and easy to use, able to do at own pace, and re-cover ground as much as needed
