Like many other members Rocket Languages is helping me achieve my dream of being a fluent speaker of a new language. I've always had a fascination with Japan, its culture and its language and it is a truly fulfilling experience to see how quickly I can advance - I can read, write and say so much!
I have been using Rocket Japanese for two years and found the site to be easy and exciting to use. It's so important to me to be able to hear a native speaker of the language because if I'm going to speak in it, I'm going to sound right; no half measures with me!
What I truly enjoy and appreciate is the culture lessons. Japan is so intact with its history and traditions it is truly fascinating - and very, very different to Europe. It is important to be able to feel like you have got to know the country a little bit and not feel like you are at risk of inadvertently causing offence. This is especially if you are aspiring to live (or even visit) there one day, as is the case with myself.
The lessons provide quite complex sentence structures straight away which I couldn't truly appreciate until I had had some classroom lessons which built a solid foundation for grammar and syntax.
I have not yet progressed very far into the course, but for as far as I have gone, Rocket compares favorably with Pimsleur courses I have used. I like the available transcripts and computer material. Being able to actually see the words helps a great deal in getting the pronunciation down faster correctly. The recordings are a little too chatty and waste a bit of time better devoted to the language itself. I look forward to your Russian course.
Just by using the free trial of the Korean language program I learned so much about the language and the culture of Korea. I had previously used the French program five years ago, and thanks to Rocket Languages I am fluent on French. Because of how successful the program was, I decided to learn Korean with Rocket Languages. I will be buying the full version soon!
I've been wanting to learn a new language for the longest time and could never really settle on one. I took two years of French in high school but found it wasn't for me and never pursued it further. I've always thought the Japanese language was very beautiful and since I do follow a lot of current trends of Japan as well as being enthralled in the deep cultural history, this made my choice very easy.
At the time of this writing I have completed the first 5 lessons having listened to each lesson multiple times. I generally follow the lesson by scrolling through the conversation text while it is being spoken. Then I'll listen to the lesson on my drive to and from work. On average I listen to each lesson 4 times. The greatest thing about learning is that I actually feel like I'm learning the language. I'm recalling words and phrases and was even able to order myself sushi comfortably.
I have been extremely impressed with the Rocket Japanese course. I do know I have a long way to go but I promise you, that if you put in the effort and time you will succeed at this.
I'm very glad I found Rocket French. Paul and Claire are great presenters who work well as a team. Paul's touches of humour and teasing keep the mood light so it hardly feels that you are working. I enjoy the little snippets of background information he drops in which help me to remember.
I have been playing the audio lessons in the car when commuting, and I am now trying to spend more time with the interactive tools. It is very useful to be able to hear Claire pronouncing individual words and phrases (repeated as many times as I want), and to see the words written down. My only criticism is the voice recognition software, which is frustrating and unreliable. I now ignore what seem to be totally arbitrary "scores" and just compare the recording of my attempts against Claire's original examples.
I have found the Rocket system to be a great way to learn the language. I am now well ahead of the "traditional" French language course which I enrolled in at the same time, and which has a more academic focus. Rocket French equips you to deal with real situations, which for most people, is what you really need if you're planning on a holiday rather than an exam.
So far I like this program. The program is step by step with built in opportunities for review. One gets to hear the words, see the words, write the words and say the words. The have very good examples of how the words are to be pronounced. Overall, Rocket Italian is better than other language programs that I have tried in the past. I am using this before a trip to Italy. I will use it again in the future before I travel to countries where English is not the first language.
I am rather impressed by the variety of activities that Rocket Language has to offer for language learning. It's awesome! Also the amazing deal that was provided on Groupon is the only reason why I was introduced to this fabulous site! I'm definitely learning more than one language on here. It's like going to school!

Here at rocket language , the tutors take time to teach you to make sure lessons are understood and they go over the lessons that has been taught previously.the lessons are easy to understand and it makes learning a language easy.
I am working my way through the Rocket German course. It has been fantastic. It certainly helps to immerse yourself in the language with other German resources, such as social media accounts, watching shows in German, learning German songs etc., but using Rocket German as the main driver of learning the language is definitely the way to go. It builds upon previously learned material and really does an all-encompassing approach to get you as close to immersive learning as possible, including audio recognition, writing, spoken pronunciation, memory, and flashcards. This is easily the best course on the market. 5/5. Only complaint is that on certain lessons it crashes the mobile app and those lessons are absolutely unusable for the phone which is incredibly frustrating, especially because each lesson builds upon previously-learned material, so simply skipping it doesn't seem like a prudent option. However, those lessons do work on the desktop/laptop version, so it's only a relatively minor inconvenience (though this has happened so far for 3 out of the first 70 lessons I have done in the beginner course).
