A gripe actually. In most of the listening exercises the male speaker does not speak clearly. Even when I reveal the correct word/phrase, I still cannot hear it clearly. I often just skip past any male speaker parts.
Response from Rocket Languages
Thank you for your honest feedback, Neil. We want every part of the lessons to feel clear and useful, so we’re sorry to hear you’re having trouble with the male speaker recordings. We’ll pass this along to our team for review. In the meantime, if you’d like, please contact us at [email protected] so we can suggest strategies to make these exercises easier to follow.
I researched quite a bit before purchasing the entire Rocket Languages Spanish Program, and the free trial cinched the deal for me.
Like any program that relies heavily on voice recognition, it has its difficulties with certain sounds, but I'm learning the idiosyncrasies, and there are easy workarounds. I did purchase a decent headset to work with, and that is helping a lot.
I'm not entirely new to Spanish. I've been playing around with some free programs for about a year, but even at my basic level, I was outgrowing their usefulness. I was able to start Rocket Languages at Premium Plus Level 2, and it's a good starting place for me.
I'm really look forward to my daily lessons and practice, and--in just a few short days--I'm already noticing improvement.
Useful every German language practice with Rocket German and I am starting to think in simple German Phrases. This is truly an Awesome Program that allows to build your language skills. It is also interesting to hear what are students/members have to say!
So far so good. This is my first language learning experience and I'm very new to it. I like the way the practice sections are set up and the repetition. I believe it's been worth the investment given my limited experience with it so far.
So far RL is okay. The audios are entertaining, but a tad slow and I wished that they were a bit less English-heavy as it really breaks my French-thinking mindset. Any technical issues (and there are quite a few given the nature of the voice recognition software) that are reported fall onto deaf ears. Overall, it's an okay program, but needs heavy supplementation from grammar and vocab books (as all learners should have anyway).
My native language is Russian. I studied English at the institute, Finnish in various courses and on my own. I have used and still use both languages at work. Spanish has been a dream of mine for many years after my vacation in Mexico. I started taking a fully paid Spanish course, but after the first lesson I stopped attending, as it turned out to be completely unsuitable for me. After that, I studied on my own and for 3 months on a paid course on the Internet. Now I have started taking this course and I am very pleased with the teaching methodology. How much time and effort I would have saved if I had studied English and Finnish using a method like Rocket Spanish !!! I hope that with the help of Rocket Spanish I will make my dream come true. Thank you very much to Mauricio Evlampieff Rocket Spanish co-creator and the whole team!
This is a great course. I like the options for review, with listening, writing, flashcards, and voice recognition it is a comprehensive program. I'm only a week in, but I can see myself sticking with this.
I wish there was an option where I could select multiple flashcards to review. I'd love to have a way to select boxes for lessons 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and either "all cards" or those "marked for review." This would allow me to review multiple lessons at once, and stay on top of all previous lessons without having to open each lesson individually. I have found my learning style is really helped by using flashcards. This is an ease-of-use issue, but in total, the program is great.
Rocket French is a fun and systematic way of learning French that has some fun and informative side notes on culture and other helpful hints. I would recommend it to others including you.
I've bought the course over two years ago and I was on it on and off by my own choice/lack of time. I moved to France, then covid happened next week. Now that I've finished uni I finally have time to do it with more consistency. I do one lesson every day with additional reading or phone apps. The course is great as it gives you reading, writing, speaking and listening experience. The exercises at the end of each lesson are a big help to memorize new words and grammar. For me it sometimes takes over 2h to do one full lesson with making my own notes and practice, so the price of the course is fair I think. It's very well constructed. Pleasant and easy to follow if you're determined.
I'm enjoying this approach to learning a new language; hearing, reading, speaking and writing. This helps to learn in the way that works best for you and develops the other areas you do not rely on often. One lesson a day is quite attainable and the topics cover everyday occurrences. Have benefitted greatly from an on-line format as the lesson can be at my convenience. Would recommend Rocket French to anyone wanting to improve their French language skills.
