The players of the conversation are very good and it is quite fun learning this way! I have tried to learn languages on my own, as I have already learnt four, but it gets quite hard when learning grammar and way of saying things. I think this way is the best and quickest if you have time and keep on trying hard. I hope to learn Russian quite soon.
I really enjoy the progressive and structural depth of each lesson--hearing a conversation, translating every word, repeating words and phrases, seeing the words written, having my pronunciation compared, flash cards--I can't imagine a better way of doing it!
I also love the daily scoring competition to stimulate a regular learning--I just want to keep extending my streak! It has been fun so far!
I really liked rocket languages when i first started using it for japanese. They replaced one of the voice actors (kenny) with what im assuming is a native speaker (who also goes by kenny) who sounds like he has a frog in his throat. they also added the worlds most monotone woman to narrarate the course. These changes have made listening to the interactive courses almost unbearable and i really hope they change the voice actors back.
I am studying French in an on-site Immersion course and was looking for something to better prepare me for classes and supplement my learning. Rocket French employs many of the same techniques use in my Immersion settings. The transcripts are helpful, the recordings are very clearly spoken , the games reinforce the learning. Love it.
I always thought that learning the language would be difficult but Rocket Korean has made it easy to speak, write and understand Korean. Now i can watch my favorite Korean series without subtitles and understand k-pop songs!!!
I am now working on the 3rd module of the Hindi course, so I've tested the programme a fair bit. Hindi must be about the 20th language I study, so I have some idea of what learning a language is about.
While I enjoy the app, the format, the light-heartedness of the dialogues and voice actors, I am frustrated by a number of things.
First of all, there are too many typos for a language course. As a learner, I shouldn't be left wondering what's going on, only to realize later that it was a typo. There are too many weird things happening, like odd or irregular translations, plurals instead of singulars, the female voice actor reading a first-person response in the masculine, etc. All this gets in the way of the otherwise fun topics and voice actors. It adds confusion to an already difficult process.
Second, I disagree with the general principle that the student should just repeat without understanding. I'm fine with putting emphasis on the carelessness of "just repeat and you'll eventually get it", and it does remove pressure from the student to perform, but there are grammatical questions that need to be explained (even with some simple additional written material), and to leave it to chance, frankly, just feels lazy.
Hindi is my national language. so i picked up rocket languages as the best one to enrich my language. the modules are good enough to make us better speaker. I have some other material but this is interesting and easy to adapt. the way of teaching is very nice thank you rocket languages.
Rocket languages really gave me the tools to succeed in my new language. My husband had brought me another Spanish App, but Rocket Spanish I really enjoy much better, it is easy to remember. I highly recommend Rocket Languages to all my friends trying to learn a new language. Learning with this system felt practically effortless. I will try to purchase this App before it expires its Earlybird Sale.
I was trying to learn Arabic and I know only a little so I listen to them explain the numbers and I know my numbers 1-10 so I was listen and the numbers were mixed up like they said wahoud is 2 but it is actually 1 and it did the same mixed up thing the whole time so don’t waste your time on this app thinking there going to teach cause your just going to get mixed up with different words

Hi Jacob - I am not sure where you are seeing that. I had a look through and all of our number lessons look correct. Can you please contact customer support and let us know exactly where you saw this?
I like the coverage in Rocket Chinese III in terms of vocabulary and grammar. The conversations between Lin and Tao are sometimes a little corny, but mostly cover relevant and useful situations. I wish there was more connectivity across lessons. Much of the vocabulary introduced in one lesson will never appear again; it would aid learning if more words were repeated over time. On the other hand, occasionally a word that has been introduced before will be introduced again as if it's brand new. I also wish the course would more often ask me to construct sentences based on what I've already learned, rather than simply repeat a sentence that I have just heard.
