I couldn't get past a few units on level 1 before I had to call it quits; Amy's Spanglish accent made it very difficult to stay focused and impeded comprehension. I don't know if using her, with a non-native accent, was a deliberate choice, but it didn't sit well with me, personally.
The program itself appears fairly comprehensive (covering all core skills in genuine contexts), but I was not a fan of the audio lessons and the narration.
Response from Rocket Languages
Thank you for sharing your experience, Andrea. We're sorry to hear that the narration style in the audio lessons wasn't a good fit for you. We aim to create realistic and relatable dialogues, but we understand that preferences can vary, especially when it comes to accents. We do appreciate your recognition of the program’s comprehensive approach. If you're open to giving it another try, we'd be happy to help you find learning paths or features that may better suit your style. Feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] if you'd like assistance.
Nothing awesome about it. The speech recognition doesn't work half the time no matter how loud I say the word. Worst Italian online course I have tried.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the speech recognition feature, John. We understand how frustrating that must be, especially when you’re eager to practice speaking. Our team is continually working to improve the accuracy of this tool, and we’d love to help troubleshoot the issues you’re running into. If you reach out to our support team at [email protected], we’ll do our best to get things working smoothly for you.
It's fine but the videos are super boring I almost fell asleep
Response from Rocket Languages
Thanks for your feedback, Anna. We're sorry to hear that the Audio lessons didn’t keep your attention. Our aim is to provide content that’s both informative and engaging, so this is helpful for us to hear. If you’re open to sharing what would make the Audio lessons more compelling for you, we’d love to hear it.
What I liked: Grammar lessons and examples. The conversational lessons are generally good, but I thought that some were not really applicable to what I wanted to learn. For example, several focus on "workplace" conversations that don't seem particularly relevant.
What I don't like: The speech recognition program is terrible. I get the impression that Rocket Languages (1) didn't adequately test this program prior to incorporating it into the course, and (2) doesn't seem to be interested in trying to fix it.
The speech recognition module actively detracts from the utility of the course. Please bring back the older speech recognition program or fix this one.
The bottom line: Not recommended due to speech recognition issues.

Voice recognition is very very bad. Very bad user experience.

i find that the female speaker does not finish words and if is hard to duplicate what she is saying.
Like Bein she makes the n so soft if you repeat the way she says it, it will not register as right
When the male speaker says the same work , it is easier to duplicate

Thank you for your honest feedback, Howard. We appreciate you highlighting the differences between speakers and how it affects pronunciation practice. Your comments help us refine our lessons and speech recognition system, and we’re glad you’re continuing to practice with Rocket French!
Enjoy learning it, Very good because you can always return to difficult parts. Had to stop for a while because of moving my home, but it was easy to pick up. From now on, I'll regularly continue. The target is learning the language. Unfortunately, my computer does not allow voice recording. I hope that this does not influence the study results.

Hi Elza - Make sure you try the Android and iOS apps!
I've been looking for an interactive program to teach me Spanish... and Rocket Languages fits the bill! It's easy to use, cheaper than the competition and fits my learning style. Can't ask for more!
I am having a lot of fun with Rocket German, and next, Rocket Spanish. This program is pretty great. I hope lots of people make use of it. Other programs I have tried did not compare.
