Rocket Languages review criteria
It's a very well thought out progression through the language. And starts in immediately with practically applicable language with the rules of grammar sprinkled in here and there. Enough so that you actually learn the mechanics of the language but not so much per lesson that it becomes overwhelming or dull. All in all it's a very very good course and I'm very happy with it.
A generally excellent course - I love the structure of core lessons supported by reinforcement activities, and the fact that you can break up your learning into conversation-based and grammar-based modules. There is a good balance between formal grammar (in the Language and Culture lessons) and the core conversational modules. I like the way sentences are broken down by the speakers and there is a chance to repeat the whole conversation yourself.
The only problem has been the voice recording, which is sometimes faulty - it seems to not pick up what you say, even using the microphone, or to judge you poorly even on simple words such as "tout". I have studied French before so I know with words like that that I'm pronouncing them correctly, but the system rates me down. This problem seems quite random so I can only think it's a software problem. If it had not been for this, I would have rated Rocket French 5 stars all round. It is still a very good course though.

Thanks so much for your review. Regarding Rocket Record (our voice recognition software), we are currently working on improving this feature so that, in the future, you will find it to be more accurate. All the best with your language learning!
I find Rocket Hindi to be a useful tool and the price is good. I do find that the audio recordings often use language devices without explaining how they should be used and these notes do not come up in the grammar sections until later in the course. The voice is also rather annoying.
I am enjoying the opportunity to exercise different styles of learning (listening, speaking, and writing). However, I am frustrated that the transcripts don't always reflect what I have said. Listening to my voice proves that.
the easy good hard buttons are kind of a hassle, maybe just being able to press the enter key or tab key if its easy. When its easy it causes an unnecessary delay.

Thank you for your feedback, Scott! We actually have a hotkey feature available for the Activities; you can press "1," "2," or "3" to rate your answers as Easy, Good, or Hard. The space bar will reveal the answer. You can find more details by clicking the "i" icon within any activity. Wishing you all the best with your language-learning journey!
It's a little simplistic at times - I like to delve further into grammar to understand why a phrase is as it is rather than just learning it by rote - but the practice has definitely made a difference to my understanding and it's good to have some structure to my learning , living in an area where I can't access any physical classes. The speaking and writing practice are most useful, and give me something I absolutely can't get from the more advanced text book I use in tandem with Rocket Hindi. I would consider signing up for another language if my financial situation improved - it's decent value for money.
It is good so far. Just have to be consistent and diligent with my progress.

It's great to hear that you're enjoying it so far. Keep using the course daily and you'll find plenty of motivation to continue!
Overall, I've enjoyed the Rocket German product. It would be very helpful to have a set of audio control buttons (play/pause/rewind 3 sec) positioned directly beneath the Quick Settings on the left margin of the web page for the interactive lessons. When I listen to the interactive lessons on a computer, I constantly have to scroll from the line in the lesson back to the top of the page to pause/replay a word/phrase. Similarly, a rewind 3 sec button on the phone version is desperately needed. Lastly, I would like to see a video option for the Language & Culture Lessons. Reading through all of this is a little dry. I want to watch/hear an instructor saying these words/phrases. Thanks
I have been looking for a good Arabic learning program for a while. I have tried a few - none really worked. Then I found Rocket - and I must say it has been an overall good experience so far (I'm only three weeks into the program). The learning tools - flashcards, "hear it, say it", etc. are absolutely great and for that only, the whole program is worth it.
There are only two (minor) downsides to it, that perhaps Rocket could improve on:
1. While there's a very good structure to the overall program, I do feel like I could use some guidance as to how to progress (i.e. audio, then grammar, then writing, etc.). There is no such thing right now - or maybe I haven't found it, and some of the audio course refers to the grammar lesson that I haven't looked at yet.
2. A list of other useful resources could be interesting too. Pointing to websites or YouTube channels or what-not could be interesting to listen to more Arabic, too.
Overall a great experience so far, that I would recommend to anyone interested in learning a language.
