The interactive audio is excellent however I struggle with the writing component. I am not sure what would be the best way to learn written Chinese over the internet, but I know I struggle with the way it has been presented to me here. However I purchased this product to learn the spoken language which it is great to learn from.
I am so grateful for this because I have family friends who speaks Spanish to each other and I feel uneducated. But now, I can maintain a conversation and it feels great to know that we can communicate with each other. This program has helped me more than any teacher I had in my high school and I wish I had something like this in my time. And there was this one time that I went into a store and there were a small group of men looking at me and talking to each other in Spanish and I desperately wanted to know what they were saying. I can’t believe that I can actually understand what I can in Spanish. I’ve only had this for a few days, maybe a week at the most but I already have gotten pretty far with learning. The only thing I am worried about is forgetting Spanish. I would 10/10 recommend this to anyone trying to learn Spanish. This has made everything so much easier. Download it today guys, it’s totally worth every penny and if you try hard enough, you will learn Spanish in almost no time as long as you have the dedication.
The Rocket Chinese course is comprehensive and contains a good variety of tools. There are a couple negatives though. The main one is that the male voice actor's pronunciation is not very good. That's a huge drawback when you're trying to learn to pronounce a language correctly. Offline use on Android is fairly minimal. It's painful to enter pinyin for exercises that use it, for instance you can't just enter dan1cheng2, you need to find a way to enter dānchéng. Some odd vocabulary items are introduced early, like "go dutch" or "seat belts". It would be nice to have some additional drills and reading material. Overall though, if they could replace the male voice (or he could improve his pronunciation and cadence) it would be a very good course. (I haven't used their customer service so I'm giving the benefit of the doubt with 5 stars.)
So far I've only taken two classes in Egyptian Arabic and it's awesome ! I am so happy to finally be learning a new language.
What I really like is that the interface is great, but the content is actually quite good too ! I love the fact that the person teaching you through the audios is super nice and very encouraging. The pace (beginner) is very good because it lets you understand each word and then put them together. Most of all : it explains the roots of certain words and describe how the language actually works... So far I'm just loving it.
I am an intermediate French student, but I am starting with the beginner lessons as review because I rarely have an opportunity to listen to native French speakers or to practice speaking. I am finding the lessons very helpful to develop my "ear" and my accent. The explanations of the grammar points within the dialogues are very clear and the opportunities to practice speaking are great.
I have used several online French courses and this is by far the best, though Babbel is quite also.
Purchased the Spanish language and find it very straightforward. Takes you through step-by-step and it's fairly interactive too. Lots of opportunities to test yourself and you can go at your own pace.
Just beginning to use Rocket Spanish and so far I like the ability to use the information in conversation, rather than just seeing endless words and phrases that generally wouldn't get used in everyday life. Much of what is taught in standard school is basic/background, which is necessary, but this helps relate to real life.
The lessons are the perfect length about 20 minute conversation. The fun dialogue between Alex and Maria keeps it very enjoyable. I have been practicing what I have learned so far with my Italian exchange student and I am doing good!!
I am very impressed with how easy the course is. Love the fact that they break down the conversations into sentences, where you can repeat a little at a time. Makes it easier to learn the words and how they should sound. Looking forward to being able to speak in Spanish on our next trip to Mexico
When I first started learning Italian, I thought long and hard before purchasing an online learning package. I did a serious amount of research, but kept coming back to the same option. Don't get me wrong there are some really useful free courses/utilities out there, but in my opinion nothing is as comprehensive as Rocket Italian. That said, it's still worthwhile to use other apps/utilities in conjunction with this course. The more you can immerse yourself in your new language the better!
With Rocket Italian, I especially like the way all aspects of learning a new language are taught and consolidated. Using different written, spoken, listening and flashcard testing. If you're true to yourself when learning, and don't cheat, the tools provided are excellent. It's also a good idea to go back and repeat lesson's on a regular basis to confirm that you're remembering what you've been taught.
On top of that I think Rocket Italian is competitively priced and you get quite a bit for your money. With all said though, you'll only get your moneys worth if you're willing to stick at it and put the effort in to learning your chosen language.
