Good course! Easy to progress. Sometimes the mic words don't hear well.

It would be nice to interact with someone every now and again. Some lessons audio are a bit too long (25 min) and I think would be better to break them up or have videos instead of audio only. Overall, I am pleased of the format and would like more variety. Longer quizzes might also be improved with variety of testing methods.

Response from Rocket Languages

Thank you for your review and for all your feedback. We're big on allowing people as much flexibility as possible when they are learning which is why we do not offer any live tutoring or interaction options. We wish you all the best with your Rocket Spanish learning!

I was able to get it for free so that was awesome. I think that it's a lot better than Duolingo and it teaches you real stuff. The frustrating part is that the audio won't pick up on your non-native accent very well. I wish they had different graph options to track your point progress.

Response from Rocket Languages

Thank you for the feedback, Kelly. It's great to hear that you're enjoying the comprehensive practical side of our Rocket French course. If you need any help with the speech recognition, just drop us a line at [email protected], and we'd be happy to look into it for you. Keep up the good work!

Over the years, I have used Rosetta Stone, Babbel and now Rocket. Rocket is what I have been using to learn Italian as I used Rosetta Stone for Spanish mainly. There are things about this I like for learning but I feel this pushes too far toward memorization and not concept or forming sentences and mental recall. I have been doing the daily lesson for 3 straight weeks. I have a good bank of vocabulary, but I am struggling forming sentences for the most part. I will see this through Level 1 for sure and most likely 2, to see how effective it is. I felt more progress at this point through Rosetta stone and their style of learning, but I did it for 6 months daily. Time will tell for Rocket but I am going to go into with my mind open and following their method.

Response from Rocket Languages

Thank you for your feedback, Anthony! We designed our Rocket Italian courses to make the learning as flexible as possible so our community of users can tailor the course to their needs. So far so good. I like the diversity of approaches - grammar, vocabulary, cards, writing what you hear, speaking... The voice recognition is an important part of the course and is great when it works. Unfortunately, a significant portion of the time it does not - on random occasions it can not detect any sound. And I am not sure what to say about the customer service, I don't know how to access that feature.

Response from Rocket Languages

We're really sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the voice recognition, Alexander. Please feel free to contact us at [email protected], and we'd be more than happy to set you up on a call with our knowledgeable IT team to see what we can do to help!

I have liked the program so far but here are my main criticisms:
First, the pacing. I wouldn't say I like having 5 audio lessons consecutively and then 5 language and culture lessons in a row. I prefer to have one audio and one language and culture lesson each time. I also wish these two types of lessons were more related and interconnected. they seem so disjointed and irrelevant right now.
I also wish that there was some sort of spaced repetition feature for reviewing previously learned vocabulary and materials. Therefore I have to manually make flashcards in another program (Anki) for this which is a little cumbersome than having them readily available.
I would like to see some new features for exercising the learned vocabulary and grammar instead of just repeating the limited number of sentences in each lesson and requiring the students to form and come up with new sentences.

Response from Rocket Languages

Thank you, Mohammad! You've raised some great points! We have a testing activity called the Rocket Certification tests in the Tools area for revisiting covered content. The course is divided into different lesson types for flexibility, so there's no fixed way to progress through it. You can switch between lesson types as you see fit! We understand the need for a stronger connection between Language and Culture, and Audio lessons, and we're working on incorporating this into our newer courses. We always value user feedback, so if you'd like to discuss anything in more detail, feel free to contact us at [email protected]!

pretty easy to follow and complete course, I love it so far. I would only like for the voice recognition to be a little more accurate and to have random automatic repetition of the lessons to recap previous concepts.

Response from Rocket Languages

Thank you for the feedback, Andres! It's really useful to us to know what our users would find helpful in their language learning. When it comes to the voice recognition, just drop us a line at [email protected], and we'll be more than happy to help make sure it is performing as accurately as possible.

I like this program because it touches all the bases (reading, writing, listening and speaking), introduces very usable vocabulary from the start and I really like the cultural and grammar part. The storyline is entertaining.
The only thing that I don't like is the sound quality in the exercises, I have to replay the words/sentences nearly every time because of the stuttering playback. The second time is perfect.

Response from Rocket Languages

Thanks, Tonina! We're sorry to hear about the audio issue you're having. Feel free to get in touch at [email protected], and we'd be happy to set up a call to see what we can do to help!

I have only done the first 5 or so lesson and have already seen improvement in my Spanish speaking abilities. Most of the vocabulary had been very applicable to general conversation. This has been a good starting place for me. I use on my computer and on the app. I have found that both have solid benefits. They are slightly different. The app has more features that I wish the web version had. But I don't feel like I am lacking when using either of them. 10/10 would recommend. This has been a solid start and has kept me interested in learning.

Response from Rocket Languages

Welcome to the Rocket Spanish community, Devin! We're really happy to hear that our course has helped you retain your interest in language learning. Keep up the great work!
