I tried the interactive lesson on planning an activity for the weekend. I was disappointed as I thought it would be interactive enough to the extent that if would allow me to repeat the phrase/sentence/word after the spanish speaker and have him correct my pronunciations. It does give me time to repeat after him but without the correction of pronunciation, it left me wanting.
Very detailed description and pronunciation. love the variety of activities
So far the pace is overwhelming. I think I would retain more if the lessons were cut in half. Half the time with half the amount of new words. I am also finding some bad issues with the voice recognition. I'm considering going to something lower paced. I don't care if it takes me longer to finish a course. I'm not retaining enough at the pace.

Thank you for your honest feedback, Wayne. We understand that everyone learns at a different pace, and it’s important to feel comfortable with the amount of material in each lesson. You might find it helpful to break lessons into smaller chunks and review them as often as needed before moving on. We also appreciate your comments about voice recognition; please contact our support team at [email protected]. We'd be happy to see what we can do to help!
I like the variety of lessons. All of the lessons involving spoken Spanish are helping me with my biggest weakness, which is understanding Spanish when it is spoken.
I do have one major complaint, and that is that more effort should be put into giving a more accurate and useful English interpretation. The addition of an exact literal translation would both provide lessons in the word order of Spanish, and also help with learning new Spanish words. All too often I am wondering if this word that I have been introduced to before has a new meaning, or does it just look that way due to the interpretation being based on what a sentence means, and not on what it actually says. (e.g.: "me gusta" means "I like", but it literally says "me it pleases")

Hi Wayne - You may not have noticed, but there is a "Lit." notation next to phrases that need a literal translation. Mouse-over that, and it will display the literal translation. We don't do this everywhere, as literal translations can be viewed as a crutch if used extensively.
The good about this program is it is very very targeted towards your listening and speaking. And you will notice your vocabulary and ease of vocal communication improving daily if you put the time in.
The bad news is you need an iron will to push yourself through it because it is SO BORING you'll seriously have a hard time staying awake.
If you can deal with listening, repeating out loud, listening, repeating out loud over and over and over and over again you will learn spanish from this course.
Only 1/2 of the lessons are audio lessons. the lessons that go more deeply into the grammar are all reading and self taught essentially which is VERY disappointing and certainly takes away from the overall value of the course.
So essentially, you teach yourself grammar, the course gives you vocabulary and go get yourself a prescription for methamphetamines so you can stay awake to get the lessons done.
I have tried literally every learning method under the son for learning spanish, I give this course overall 3/5. Effective material, but almost unbearably boring and not worth the full price.

Thank you for sharing your honest thoughts, Carter. We’re happy to hear that the listening and speaking components have supported your progress. We also appreciate your thoughts on lesson pacing and grammar content. While our approach may not suit every learning style, it’s designed to provide a well-rounded and comprehensive approach to learning Spanish grammar.
So far, I'm not happy with the way the Spanish course is taught. Lesson 1.7 was hard and seemed out of place. It seems we should have learned numbers, months, and other things first. The voice recognition doesn't seem to work. It will record my voice sometimes but has yet to tell me if I am speaking correctly or not. It only plays back my own voice, but nothing more. Sometimes the voices used by your staff are hard to understand or are speaking too fast for beginners. I'm going to keep trying, but so far, not much is sticking.

That should not be happening with the voice recognition. Check your inbox; let's hop on a call and get it sorted!
The courses itself are well structured and have intuitive user interface. I also like that you often repeat phrases in next lessons.
However the performance of the web site and its responsiveness is not always very good. I had few days when lessons hangs and I also see that while doing speaking exercises it is quite often that it will not catch the phrase I speak even after 2-3 attempts.
Rocket Spanish has truly helped me have a better life because my boyfriend is Mexican and we would argue because of not being able to communicate. I'm so happy now and so is my boyfriend, now husband. Thanks rocket Spanish. Pamela Roach

Hi Julie - I am sorry to hear that it wasn't for you. If there was a technical issue then please contact customer support!
The Spanish course does an adequate job of starting one learning the language. The technique used is anything but new as I have used it over many years for two of the several languages I know. The price for the first set of lessons is reasonable at less than $100 but then the price escalates.
