Rocket Languages review criteria
Rocket Languages has interactive audio lessons that makes it easier and more fun to learn from. In addition, the reviews at the end are very helpful and different from any other program I've used. I have learned way more efficiently now with so much more to look forward too.
this is the best, and thank you to create this site i can learn about to my dream country and how to speak and write the hangul word. this is a blessing for us who cannot understand their languages. and more people is to be satisfied to create an account on this site.
I think more emphasize should be placed in Hangul! Its the foundation of the language and everything is so jumbled. Consonant, vowels should be separated and thought differently. I learned by watch children videos of sing alongs in Hangul. Like they make it so simple there. Its ok I guess... It needs more material to be concise. But good program
The web site is complicated and not very user friendly. I've spent 5 min trying to figure out how do I start the lessons and where to begin the studying. It's stupid to spend so much effort on a web site to have people leave confused. Too complicated to begin with.
Response from Rocket Languages
Hi Milla - There is a take a tour video on the Get Started page! Also, we are revamping the lesson interface to make it easier to understand. It is a little difficult when some courses have over 100 lessons!
I don't have enough English to explain but I can say that: "Rocket Languages are very helpful, nice and great. If only Rocket Languages are free." I love learning languages so I love Rocket Languages very much...
I've enjoyed learning Spanish with Rocket Languages, but delving into Korean proved to be unexpected challenging. Any Korean teaching material that starts from the beginner level should include lessons on Hangul, but that's lacking in Rocket Language Korean. Fine, I taught myself Hangul using other sources. Not being familiar with Asian languages in general, Korean was much harder for me to pronounce and speak quickly. The speaking exercises are way too demanding in terms of accuracy of pronunciation and the speed at which you have to respond and often my responses get truncated halfway because I'm trying to remember the exact wording. From the very first introductory lesson, there are a lot of more complicated phrases and vocab that get thrown in which are tested, and almost impossible for a beginner to get right. It's been a frustrating experience all around. I guess I'll stick to Romance languages, and use other materials to learn Korean.
Response from Rocket Languages
Hi Mengsha - We took your feedback onboard and now the very first Language and Culture lesson is indeed on Hanguel and Korean pronunciation in general.
I love that it uses phrases to teach the vocabulary and doesn't spend hours on learning individual letters. The ability to practice conversations and see how well you are pronouncing the foreign words is a great benefit.
I like this program a lot. I have it for two languages. It is good for learning grammar, both in sentence structure and formality levels.
The only thing i would like more is if you were taught more vocabulary right from the beginning because learning everything as part of a sentence can make it hard to separate words for me.
But i like that they have sections and tips and explanations to help you learn to speak the languages like a native. It let's you know why you say something a certain way and explains what each thing means literally while telling you why a native uses a particular phrase instead of how Google translate would put it literally.
The program is very easy to get used to. It helps keep you interested in the language, and gives you real world examples. The only thing I would like is more information about writing and reading. Otherwise this is a great program for anyone wanting to learn a new language.
i really enjoy reading and learning here at the rocket languages. i already learn a lot of things that i want to learn here like how to write a hangul and how to pronounce it properly. so i hope they continue helping others like the way you help me. anyway i just want you to know that i enjoy my experience here. Thank you.
