Much better than Rosetta Stone. The practice things on-line really make me feel like I know the material. Downloading the lessons and listening to them (and talking back) works great in the car. You need to repeat them until they make sense. I paid the cheep price so I don't have written materials with the course, but it's not holding me back at all. I just had to google the things they say are part of the written materials, like the alphabet.
It's interesting that the lessons are arranged in a way where you start with casual phrases and then moves on to more specific ones. I particularly like the Survival Kits as well. It is good that the package both has spoken and written lessons so that you know the basics of both.
This is a really good language program. My own progress is slow because time is limited, but that does not bother me as I know Rocket Hindi remains available to me at all times, and repeating a lesson several times is not a bit burdensome. If I cannot sit down to study, I just play the audios while I get on with something else, and the sounds and rhythms of the language sink in.
I seem to be very good at pronunciation, because Rocket HIndi tells me I am, and I can hear it too! So I feel less worried that my vocabulary needs constant repetition.
Rocket Hindi is fun as well as informative and user-friendly, and the interface is terriffic.
I would recommend it to anyone.
Easy to use and very 'friendly' in their approach. Well thought out and comprehensive coverage of the subject - what more could one ask for?

I began learning Hindi when I lived in Mumbai several years ago, but found it challenging to find ways to practice once I moved back to the United States. Rocket Language provided the answer to that dilemma! I have found their program invaluable, and very easy to use! I recommend this program to anyone who is a beginner Hindi student, especially those who would like practice speaking with correct pronunciation and mastering Devanagari!
Namaskaar Nikita. apa acchi Hindi bolati hai. dhanyavada. ha, mai hindi sikhata hu . Rocket hindi bahuta accha. mujhe pasanda hai. I watched an Indian Film, called Har dil jo pyar karaga and I found that I could already understand some of the words spoken thanks to Rocket. Also my learning hindi will really assit when I come to india on a visit.
I find Rocket Hindi to be a useful tool and the price is good. I do find that the audio recordings often use language devices without explaining how they should be used and these notes do not come up in the grammar sections until later in the course. The voice is also rather annoying.
Excellent lessons. Would love for there to be a more advanced course after this one. For me would have liked lessons on how to conjugate verbs in the beginning as I got a bit lost sometimes, as no explanation was given for the change of verb endings. Maybe grammar lessons should be interspersed with the interactive lessons. Also there are some mistakes throughout and some words that are used are not in common usage in India, as verified by my journalist husband. Apart from that all excellent so have given it 5/5.
Inconsistent and confusing !
The progression of difficulty in lessons is VERY problematic and not well though !
Sudden long chains of complex unknown words that you have to repeat during the gap which is often too short for long sentences even when you know them by heart.
Followed by obvious 2-word sentences you have seen and heard 5 times already.
Then back to a complex sentence filled with new words.
And not so much audio content in between.
Too expensive for that kind of inconsistency.
Response from Rocket Languages
Hi Iza - Unlike some more popular languages, there is no set way of learning Hindi (everyone seems to have a different opinion on how it could/should be done). It probably has to do with it being a dialect, which means there isn't necessarily a lot of uniformity when it comes to some words and phrases. We revamped Rocket Hindi at the start of 2020 and I feel that it is one of the best Hindi courses that you will find.
