Thanks to Rocket Chinese, now I'm looking forward to heading back to China, and impressing all my friends in Dong Guan with all that I have picked up in such a short time, Its got brilliantly laid out lessons which really help you grasp the language in a shorter span of time! EXCELLENT tool to learn a new language. If anyone talks to me about learning a new language, I am quick to recommend Rocket Languages, Its better than enrolling into an institute, I say! Especially if you don't have the time to travel and find time to study only at odd hours of the day!!
This is the core of the software and how you learn. With over 65 audio lessons it's really the backbone of it. This is the section of the site you will be in the majority of your time. Basically, you are given a dialogue between two or three people and you are supposed to listen to it and read along out loud. I actually really like how they do this vs Rosetta Stone or other programs because it gets you speaking the language really quick. It also gives you words in their context which shows how they are used and where they are put in a sentence.
After you have listened to the dialogue a couple times, you are then supposed to practice using the “Rocket Record†function. You simply record yourself and compare it with the native speakers accent. You are also given the ability to role play in the dialogue — meaning one person in the audio is taken out and you speak those parts instead.
OH MY GOSH ITS IS SO ENTERTAINING AND CHALLENGING AND FREE!!! it is so fun to use this while learning because it teaches modern Korean thanks for making it free!
Response from Rocket Languages
We love your enthusiasm, thank you! It’s fantastic to hear that you’re finding the Korean course both fun and challenging. We're proud to offer engaging content that teaches modern, useful language, and we're so glad you're enjoying it. Keep having fun while you learn!
Quisiera conocer este sistema de enseñanza por qué me parece interesante
Affordable compared to RS. Like not having to use discs and being able to use a tablet. Like the grammar explanations, but haven't yet found all of the verb tenses in Spanish premium. Admittedly though, I've been quite lazy and haven't used the program as much as I should. It's not a program that makes you can't wait to get back to it. You need to be self motivated. I suppose that's true of the others, too.
I am working my way through the Rocket German course. It has been fantastic. It certainly helps to immerse yourself in the language with other German resources, such as social media accounts, watching shows in German, learning German songs etc., but using Rocket German as the main driver of learning the language is definitely the way to go. It builds upon previously learned material and really does an all-encompassing approach to get you as close to immersive learning as possible, including audio recognition, writing, spoken pronunciation, memory, and flashcards. This is easily the best course on the market. 5/5. Only complaint is that on certain lessons it crashes the mobile app and those lessons are absolutely unusable for the phone which is incredibly frustrating, especially because each lesson builds upon previously-learned material, so simply skipping it doesn't seem like a prudent option. However, those lessons do work on the desktop/laptop version, so it's only a relatively minor inconvenience (though this has happened so far for 3 out of the first 70 lessons I have done in the beginner course).
I'm still near the beginning of Rocket Italian. Too basic for me but it's a good review and a chance to practice pronunciation. Maria is delightful as is the American, Alessandro. However, you might have been able to find an American with better pronunciation. Sometimes the way he says a word in Italian can be very jarring.
I've bought the course over two years ago and I was on it on and off by my own choice/lack of time. I moved to France, then covid happened next week. Now that I've finished uni I finally have time to do it with more consistency. I do one lesson every day with additional reading or phone apps. The course is great as it gives you reading, writing, speaking and listening experience. The exercises at the end of each lesson are a big help to memorize new words and grammar. For me it sometimes takes over 2h to do one full lesson with making my own notes and practice, so the price of the course is fair I think. It's very well constructed. Pleasant and easy to follow if you're determined.
I highly recommend the Rocket Japanese course.
I'm a Brazilian living in London. So I'm learning a foreign language in English, which is not my native language in the first place. But I'm really enjoying, the content is very clear and easy to understand.
I've seen some other reviews complaining about the "new" Kenny, but I must say I prefer the new one. The fact that he is native helps a lot, even without the whole "enthusiasm" the former one had.
I started last year and had to stop for a while as I didn't have time to continue, but now I've started over and noticed the new narrator and new Kenny as well. I found a good surprise.
I would like first of all to comment on Bill Landman's review of two days ago. I am not yet up to Level 9 (only at Level 5), but I have had no trouble with pronunciation being recognized thus far, so I jumped ahead to Lesson 9.11 to see if Mr. Landman's remarks would be confirmed. As it turned out, however, I had no trouble at all achieving a 100% rating in pronunciation on everything, with Record Difficulty set to "Hard." Thus, whatever problem Mr. Landman experienced does not seem to be with Rocket Spanish itself. Perhaps his microphone was not clear, or its output level was too low (or something) that day.
I have been very satisfied with Rocket Spanish. Although I'm only on Level 5, I have been using Rocket Spanish for several months (not with great regularity, obviously, or I'd be farther along). I had previously gone through at least 3 different CD courses, one of which I thought was excellent. However, CD courses are not interactive, of course. Nor did even the best one go to as high a level as Rocket Spanish.
