I'm not great with languages and have smattering of both French and, to a greater degree, Spanish so wasn't sure then Italian would stick. I'll admit that I am listening to each lesson several times, but after only 10 days, I am finding that my first recall is in Italian and not another romance language. The voices are very pleasant and friendly and the lessons are relevant to travel. We (a 51 year old woman and 15 year old boy) are very happy, so far, with our Rocket Italian lessons.
the live chat is awesome its helpful and you are talking to a friendly person it is the best they are nice and they help you find free lessons so you dont have to pay and they undersand everything that you say,and you can learn any language.I love this website
I really want to try this course but on the tests cannot get voice record on iPhone or iPad. Tried yer App same issue and Chrome on iPad. I cannot proceed to buy unless I know for it's going to work without all this hassle
Note from Rocket Languages: Hi T, thanks for reviewing Rocket Italian. Someone of our customer support team has reached out to you to solve this issue. All the best with your Italian learning! Your Rocket Languages Team
I learned about Rocket Languages from the YouTube channel of Tangerine Travels. They used it to learn Spanish to travel through Mexico. I joined a Spanish club to learn and this has helped me already even though I'm very new at Spanish.
Very friendy interface. Now i'm learning my fifth language with rocket. Enjoing accessibilty. Mobile version helps greatly. Thanks. My son likes rocket too. Maybe it would be helpful to add more verb drills.
I've only had the program for a week. So far I'm enjoying it. I wish they could add podcasts like Duolingo has. I haven't used customer services so I really can't comment to that. But the sign up was easy.
My husband and I watch a lot of Japanese television like anime and some regular TV shows and thought how awesome it would be to actually be able to understand what the characters are saying without having to read subtitles. We also would like to take a trip to Japan in the future. We were both reluctant to start learning Japanese because we've heard how difficult it can be and that it takes years to become just somewhat fluent. But, we decided to take the leap and signed up for several Japanese learning tools. We started with Rosetta Stone and after 2 days of being on the trial version, we cancelled it because it wasn't working for us. We weren't retaining anything. Then, we found Rocket Japanese and we couldn't believe that we were actually able to have a short conversation after just 2 days!! Rocket Japanese is the easiest and most intuitive program out there for learning Japanese. It's so much fun and so interesting that I spend hours doing the lessons without realizing that much time had passed. I'd recommend Rocket Languages to everyone trying to learn a new language. Arigatō to the creators of this program, I am forever grateful to have this resource!
I absolutely love Rocket Italian. I have tried Duo Lingo and Rosetta Stone and this is by far the most effective program I've used. This program is unique in that you hear new vocabulary and grammatical concepts in the context of a conversation and then delve in to the grammar after seeing it in context. Whoever wrote this really knew what they were doing because you will complete one lesson and then later in the lesson, or even a few lessons later, the grammatical concept will be fully laid out. This sense of "hey, I've heard that before" makes new grammar and vocab so much easier and more natural to learn. Seriously, it works. You do have to put a little work into memorizing the conversation in each lesson, but the "Practice this conversation" mode allows you to grade the task by slowly making it harder and harder by taking away words. Again, genius! My brain has been able to go back to draw on previously memorized conversation to help me remember conjugations, phrases, and grammar. I am in my mid-thirties and have a terrible memory (let's just say I make for a lousy trivia buddy), so it is shocking that I am having such success with my Italian.
I like the Chinese course. It is thorough and challenging especially if you go through all the exercises from the 20 to 30 minute speaking presentation and continue to the last - the quiz. I like the speaking the best. Even thou I can't seem to pronounce the second tone or the vowel u. But I am learning. I would recommend it to my friends. I do wish the comments from people in my course would follow the same as the reviews. That is the latest comments come first and not at the end! I also find the writing part really challenging. There is a keyboard to write in pinyin and you get instant feedback.
I am surprised to be enjoying learning Japanese. It IS challenging and takes effort, but the (literally) infinite patience of the instructors and light-hearted nature of the instruction keep it enjoyable. Teaching with conversations initially seems daunting. but it's broken down so well, that you will feel accomplishment by lesson's end. 4 stars on the service only because I haven't needed it yet.
