Pros:
- Good overall structure
- Gamified
- Lots of content
- Lifetime access
Cons:
- Grammar lessons should be more in-depth.
- Writing section should be taken more seriously instead of the "it's almost impossible for you to learn this so here's some easy random stuff".
Overall this may be the best online package out there. However, in order to be perfect it needs to consolidate its writing and grammar section. I have found the structure to be really useful in obtaining some key phrases or words but there's almost no info regarding phrase construction and rules so it's not that easy to use what I've learned so far as building blocks for new phrases and expanded meanings.
I truly enjoy the kinetic energy of the presentations. The sizing of each lesson is also very appropriate, I have used older Chinese courses and this is heads and shoulders above them all! I will be using this course in Taiwan this summer to hone my language skills!!
Just getting started. Problems with motivation and memory are addressed well by this program. Still finding difficulty setting aside specific time(s) to practice. Appreciate weekly emails and short programs.
The Rocket Languages courses are by far the best courses I've come across to learn a new language rapidly and with ease. Everything you need to learn your chosen language is right at your finger tips. I've tried various courses, books and podcasts, but nothing comes close to Rocket Languages. I'd recommend this product to anybody who's new to learning a foreign language or has struggled with learning a language in the past. It's an extremely rewarding process no matter how you do it, but Rocket Languages is the best!
I have found the Rocket Spanish to be great and much better than Rosetta stone and Fluenz. I have tried them all and always recommend Rocket Languages. If the course updates. So, does yours no matter when you purchased the product.
I love Rocket Chinese - at this stage being a novice - I feel the more exposure to a variety of formats to learning Chinese really breaks up the monotony of trying to learn and helps me to understand quicker .
Many thanks, Peter
I have been living in China for a year now and have not had the time to learn Chinese. But when I started to make time to learn. I began looking online to see what there was out there. I looked at many other sites and none of them compared to this site. They really are the best that I have found. I like the fact that I can take the lesson anywhere I want to. Whether that be in the car or on my phone. They make it so easy to learn by slowing the words and sentences down and explain them word for word.
I like the coverage in Rocket Chinese III in terms of vocabulary and grammar. The conversations between Lin and Tao are sometimes a little corny, but mostly cover relevant and useful situations. I wish there was more connectivity across lessons. Much of the vocabulary introduced in one lesson will never appear again; it would aid learning if more words were repeated over time. On the other hand, occasionally a word that has been introduced before will be introduced again as if it's brand new. I also wish the course would more often ask me to construct sentences based on what I've already learned, rather than simply repeat a sentence that I have just heard.
Rocket Languages seems to be a way to help a learner to developing a courant vocabulary and sentences of daily usage structures of the Mandarin language.
I enjoyed working with the sound tracks during the time I have free for my language study. I am also happy that I have my lessons so that I may go over all of them once or twice again, when I fell the time to do so.
I am excited about starting this program. I feel I can actually learn Chinese and attain a level of proficiency that will allow me to work and visit China. I like the Pinyin. I like the audio and interactive lesson. I am starting this program with a very positive attitude.
