The voice recognition technology is very inconsistent. It kills the experience because the lesson is based on the use of voice to qualify your speech.

A very clever format that takes the learner through rote learning deep into Chinese before he/she realises it. Very intense and rewarding.
I am very old and use nonsense words to make pictures which I can remember. eg speak = ciao, hello in Italian
Gaoxing = happy, Gaussing means magnetising a ship.

I very much enjoy Rocket Chinese. Of course, you get back however much you are willing to put into it. If I stick with it, a little every day, I find I learn very quickly.
