Find out what actual users have to say about our courses through their Rocket Spanish reviews.
I was using Spanishpod101, and I switched to RocketSpanish based on online reviews. I regret the decision. I'm disappointed that there's no means to diagnose my proficiency and place me in the appropriate level. I find the dialogues ridiculously boring and unauthentic. I'm suffering through this, because I'm committed to learning the language, hoping it will get better as I progress.
Response from Rocket Languages
Response from Rocket Languages: Hi Edgar - We have since added in Benchmark testing so you can more easily sort out where your proficiency level is. Just go to My Tools > Benchmark Test
The microphone on the trial program worked fine until I purchased the Spanish 1-3, then the microphone stopped working. I loaded the program onto another device, the microphone worked, but the 'play' button did not work!
Very difficult to concentrate when there are so many technical difficulties with the program.

Response from Rocket Languages: Hi KY - I am sorry to hear about your issues. Please contact customer support and we can set up a Skype call to get to the bottom of it.
The program is OK but no grammar nor conjugation. It is a lot to pay for things I could get for free on Youtube
Response from Rocket Languages
Response from Rocket Languages: Thank you for your review. Please note that each Module includes our Language and Culture lessons that teach the Spanish grammar rules. There are approximately 30 Language and Culture lessons per Level.
I hope that helps! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our Customer Support team.

Response from Rocket Languages
Hi Libby, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're sorry to hear that you are finding the workload of our Rocket Spanish course overwhelming and the system frustrating. We pride ourselves on offering comprehensive language courses and want to ensure that you are learning everything you need to ensure you can start speaking as soon as possible. Learning a language is lifelong commitment but with a bit more practice we're sure that your Spanish abilities will take off in no time!
I like Rocket Languages but, I don't like how it is set up and you don't really learn from it, it's more of a study tool for people taking a Spanish class. You should make it so that people can actually learn Spanish from this website.

Hi Ettrick, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am sorry to hear that you are finding the Rocket Spanish course difficult to learn from. Ensuring that our course is user friendly is very important to us and with this in mind our Customer Support team has contact you to get a clearer idea of the issues you are experiencing. All the best!
I was astonished by the sexism and gender stereotypes, there were even lessons about the nativity. I wanted to share these lessons with my partner, who is more advanced than me, but I was too embarrassed, and some lessons were unlistenable for me, due to these problems.
Also, the lessons themselves tend to just ask you to repeat what you have heard, and only occasionally challenge the listener to take what they've learned in the lesson an actually apply it to make new sentences.
On a positive note I was pleased that the instructors would often add multiple ways of saying things.

Response from Rocket Languages: Hi Nicholas - Thanks for your feedback, and we will take that onboard at our annual review of course content. Certainly the stereotyping is an issue we are looking at, even though a lot of these attitudes are still prevalent in South American culture. As is Christianity, hence the nativity lessons.
It says to write something awesome about Rocket languages. I can't. The voice recognition is absolutely terrible. I have changed the setting from default, to "Easy" and to "Hard", and it still doesn't recognise half of what I say. I can't complete the exercises properly because it fails to recognise most speech. It marks me down. It is REALLY slowing down my progress. I have tried: emphasising words with clear enunciation, speaking louder and softer, and speaking slowly. Still most of the time, even with simple words like "soy" and "doctor" it interprets them a something completely and randomly different, even with vowel sounds that aren't in the words. The rest of the time I just get the message that it "didn't catch that". I don't have a speech impediment. So should this review really give such low grading JUST because of one thing, the speech recognition? Yes, because the speech recognition is used in about 80% of the course sections.

Response from Rocket Languages: Thanks so much for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the voice recognition. If you're not already, we strongly recommend that you use a headset to record yourself. If you are using your inbuilt mic, then it's likely that it will be picking up lots of background noise, and affecting your results. If you continue to have trouble, please contact our customer support team on [email protected]
I have tried other ways and other programs to learn Spanish, and I find Rocket Spanish is the most engaging and the most fun way of learning the language.I LOVE MY ROCKET SPANISH.
Geopill
I would love Rocket Languages if it would work and the sound would stop cutting out. I ask for help they say it will take 2 days to get a response for my request. I really thought the first course 1.1 was great but i cant get past 1.2 because it plays for awhile and then the sound cuts out.

I've been looking for an interactive program to teach me Spanish... and Rocket Languages fits the bill! It's easy to use, cheaper than the competition and fits my learning style. Can't ask for more!
