What is the difference between tomar and beber? In the beginning lessons, when asking for a drink, tomar is used. When using an online translator, beber is used.

Is anyone using 3G cellular for the audio lessons? I tried it, because that's all I got, but it takes a minute before the Tutor starts speaking and also when I want the tutor to repeat any part of the lesson. Very frustrating
