The thing I like most about Rocket Language is that it is audio based so you are actually speaking the language. Unlike other products that use this method it has tons of additional content and the price is not too high.
So far (I am only on Lesson 1.3) the experience is good. The conversation is applicable to everyday life - and I am looking forward to using these phrases, as they stick in my head and on my tongue, next week on a business trip to Paris. I need to keep practicing saying the phrases, and comparing my pronunciation and word rhythm with the recordings.
It is too frustrating. It doesn’t always understand what I am saying, even if I am saying it correctly. I don’t think I should have to know every ñ, é, á etc. when I am writing. It takes way too long. Need to shorten the lessons. I haven’t been doing them b/c I get too frustrated when it doesn’t understand me.

Hi Polly - Please make sure that you are using a headset microphone for best results with voice recognition. We have just added in special character keys to Rocket Spanish "Write it" activities to make the writing process much easier.
My favorite part of Rocket Language German is the spoken conversation in a dialogue. Hearing a native speaker hold a short conversation and then dissecting the conversation piece by piece is very useful. I am able to hear the flow of conversation and not just learn words or sentences. They may already or may want to include a bit more about the grammar process. I am just getting started but when I was learning Spanish some of the rules did help...even though they can be painful to learn..haha. The flashcards are also helpful and the practice on pronunciation is very useful as well. Lessons move at a reasonable pace and each is somewhat 'bite sized' so that you don't feel overwhelmed.
All in all, a very good course that I highly recommend.

I am very impressed with this course. The podcasts are very well made, and I love that they are the main part - you can practice also when doing other things (even though it feels a bit weird to speak random Spanish words in public...) and the different possibilities for repetition are making everything less repetitive and boring. When I learn new words and sentences I need to both say them out loud and write them down, so it's great to have this possibility inside the course.
I took me a while to decide to buy this course because of all the free material you can find online, but I have not regretted it a second, it's definitely worth it. It might be possible to learn a language just by using the free materials and information on the internet, but having a course makes me stick to actually learning instead of searching around all the time.
Thanks for making this!
Overall a good course - perhaps a few too many bells and whistles. In the French course the instructor needs to speak MUCH more slowly and enunciate more clearly. Speaking too fast, especially in the early stages, does NOT provide the student with proper pronunciation. It may be the way many French people speak day to day, but you need to learn the proper way to say things before speaking rapidly. I speak some French and what I'm hearing is not clear for a new student to learn properly.

Hi Russell - It usually does take some time for ears to be trained to a new language. It can be a good idea to listen to a French radio station during the day to help with this process.
Hi everyone!
I love travelling and learning languages while doing so! It's not always easy to find a way to learn well, a system, a teacher, etc...
Now that I've discovered Rocket I feel so happy because I know i can keep on going and learn different languages in a fun, easy, complete and practical way.
This course is really awesome! To be honest I'm a bit addicted. I tell to myself that today I will only do 30 minutes and 2 hours later I'm still on, learning more and more. I just don't see the time passing. I'm just enjoying myself! And by the way I get to practice with local at the same time and they can understand me very well as well as I understand what I know from them!
All in all this is a amazing way to learn a new language, I highly recommend it!
Thanks Roket
Simon
PS Hoping that there will be more language options in a near future!!
I have used Rosetta Stone and Berlitz in the past to become comfortable with Italian and German before trips. I found both of those much easier than Rocket. The English accent of the narrator makes it hard to follow, and the pace is very slow, which leads me to get distracted mid-lesson.

The course is very good! I've just started and have almost completed my first lesson. The lessons are well organized and the writing is very helpful! I have not had much time to invest in my learning, but at least now I could properly greet smeone!
I LOVE this course! It's hands-down one of the best ways to learn a new language. After learning new words in one lesson, the following lessons reinforces what has already been learned by allowing us to listen to a real conversation. So, we are not only memorizing words, we're getting a chance to hear the words spoken. We can listen to conversations over and over until we fully understand what is being said.
What is more, each segment that tests our knowledge etches the new words into our memories by writing the words out, saying the words out loud until they are properly pronounced, and reviewing them once again on flash cards. My favorite part, though, is being able to have a makeshift conversation. This is a great program that is worth every single cent!
